The weeks go by quickly....
So do the years.
The close of every school year makes me aware of the fleetingness of time. The pile of size 13 gym shoes in the family room is also an indicator that my boys are now young men. (Yes, they both wear size 13 shoes.)
All I know: a hug from a teenage boy is just as wonderful as a hug from a toddler. C'est la vie... it's life. And you know what else I know? C'est bon. It's good.
L'Chaim!
(To life!)

Joy = Music |
just cuz it's fun...
C'mon everybody, clap your hands
aww, you're looking good...
I'm gonna sing my song
It won't take long
We're gonna do the twist
and it goes like this...
|
Joy - Keep on keeping on |
Life is a series of steps. Things are done gradually. Every once in a while there is a giant step, but most of the time, we are taking small, seemingly insignificant steps on the stairway of life.
~Ralph Ransom
|
Joy = laugh... or at least smile |
The graveside service just barely finished, when there was massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more
thunder rumbling in the distance.
The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, 'Well, she's there.'
|
Joy Droppings |
What brings me joy lately?
* a shower with good water pressure
* encouragement from friends and brand new acquaintances
* happy snailmail

What is your life about? |
And life is what we make it.
Always has been, always will be.
|
Yes! I want to be dizzy! |
Each person on this planet is inherently, intrinsically capable of attaining "dizzying heights" of happiness and fulfillment.
~Wayne Dyer

Joy = Teenage Boys |
I rent this space so I can brag....both sons received academic honors.
They get it from their mama. ;)

Happy Incredible Fabulous Joyous Birthday Wishes to:
:( don't have bday book with me....AGAIN! OH NO! (Picture Mister Bill..... OH NOOOOO!)
so happy bday to those who celebrate this week -- and last week --- all the May bdays will be one big lump of a party! I highly recommend the triple chocolate cake from Sam's Club or Portillo's or maybe I should bake one for each of you since I have been remiss with my birthday book..... cake makes everything better.
(New JOY seekers/spreaders: Let me know your bday. At the end of each month, I draw a name and one birthday person gets a joy present in the mail.)

When you have only two pennies left in the world,

Joy = Word fun |
From an email going around (thanks, Mavis):
I went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. I asked the person behind the counter for 'minimal lettuce.' He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.
|
Joy = Never Give Up |
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.
~Steve Jobs

|
JOY = Words to live by |
There must be more to life than having everything!
~Maurice Sendak |
Joy = Vocabulary |
Dolorous (adjective)
Pronunciation: ['do-l-rs]
Definition: Mournful, causing or expressing grief.
Usage: The noun is dolor or dolour (British).
Suggested Usage: This is a term to use in place of "sorrowful" or "sad" when you wish to speak in a higher register: "The dolorous atmosphere in the house made wittiness awkward" or "The dolorous expression on her face bespeaks a recent tragedy in her life."
FYI - I know a Deloris and a Delores, and neither are Dolorous.
|
Joy = Texting |
I don't have a keyboard on my phone and I have finally learned the "T9" way to text. However, one must be careful and doublecheck what words are formed before hitting the send button. I wrote a reply to friend MaryJoy for her kind words. My intended words: You make my heart happy. The texted words: You make my heart gassy.

Joy = Nichole Vrsansky TV Girl |
Nichole was delightful. I am not comfortable on camera and hope someday to have a do-over. :) But the message that humor is healthy is right on, amen, youbetcha. Thanks, Niki.
|
Joy = Live Like a Dog |
(Don't know who gets credit for this email blurb.)
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

Live like a dog.
joyfully, xx kelly
