Wow.
I've fallen in love. This time, it's a place. I just got back from Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC. Gor-geous! The mountains and the trees and the unseasonably warm temps swept me off my feet. Hope to go back in the fall to see the mighty majestic colors.

I have not unpacked yet, but need to do so since I will be packing again. March 19-22 is Vegas trip; March 22-31 is California; April 2-5 is a conference in... Vegas again. Maybe I could get a parttime job as a dealer. I'm too old and too flat for cocktail waitress.

I'm also too tired to self-edit. Sleep is calling my name.

Words to ponder:
"I think TV is very educational. Every time someone turns on the TV, I go into the other room and read."
Groucho Marx

Joy = Love

I like not only to be loved, but to be told I am loved.
--George Eliot

Puppy love?
I'm not the only one who crushes. Many of you do too:
"After 50 years, I still have a crush on Pat Boone.  (You'll probably have to Google to find out who he is!) 50 years. That's devotion. I still love that man. He made the world tolerable for me when I was a teen."
Pat McC

Pat Boone rocks!

Joy = Music
Lyrics I love:

there's never a wish better than this
when you only got 100 hundred years to live

Joy = Love Thy Self
 AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE SHORT CHAPTERS

by Portia Nelson

I

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.

II

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place
but, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to getout.

III

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
my eyes are open
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

IV

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

V

I walk down another street.

Joy = Wisdom
"People often say to me, 'Zig, motivation is great but it doesn't last.'
I just tell them, Bathing doesn't last either, that's why I recommend it daily."

Belated Milestone Birthday Greetings to Minta G in Greenville, SC!
I was blessed to spend some time with Minta in gorgeous Greenville last week. I am a lucky girl and I know it.

When February birthday joy prize winner Tanya Edmundson read that I was off to Asheville, NC, she wrote me that the Blue Ridge Parkway is heaven on earth and she is right. I am already planning to return. Besides a joy notepad/pencil, I picked up a twig, a pinecone, and an evergreen spray from the Parkway woods for Tanya. And a handmade Appalachian soap from the Folk Arts Center. (I know. All prior winners are thinking, "All I got was a magnet.")

Joy = Right Here, Right Now

I have a wooden sign in our family room that reads: The Time To Be Happy Is Now.
Maybe I bought it for my boys, maybe I bought it for me. They're pretty happy boys.

I get the email poem frequently that has the refrain "You better slow down, don't dance so fast, time is short, the music won't last." I say it all the time, life is short. I got another email recently that worded it as "It's later than you think."
The time to be happy is now.

So what are we waiting for?

Joy =French Lesson
One of the best lessons to learn from the French:
Take a two hour lunch, have a nice meal, a nice glass of wine, and some lively conversation. If we all took a true midday break, every day, we would have less stress.... and world peace.

Joy = Shameless Self Promotion

Holy smokes, good ideas are  bubbling and coming soon;

Some days...

Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people
who have the habit of making excuses.
~George Washington Carver

Joy = Technology

It was March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell made the first successful telephone call. We've come a long way, baby! Thank you, Mr. Bell!

Joy= Punny Funny
> Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

> A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."

> A dyslexic man walked into a bra.

> An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.

> I went to buy some camouflage pants the other day, but I couldn't find any.

The Laws of the Universe

Law of Mechanical Repair - After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee.

Law of Gravity - Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.

Law of Probability -The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act.

Law of the Alibi - If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the very next morning you will have a flat tire.

Variation Law - If you change lines (or traffic lanes), the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now.

Law of Close Encounters -The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.

Law of the Result - When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.

Law of Biomechanics - The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach.

Law of the Theater - At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last.

Murphy's Law of Lockers - If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers.

THANKS, JOE H for laying down the laws.

 Love All, Serve All, Save the Planet

I believe that we are here to contribute love
to the planet--each of us in our own way.

And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
