9 Ways to Have More Balance in Your Life- A Checklist | |
#1: Enjoy what is. Acknowledge the positive things in your life and allow yourself to feel good about them.
#2: Inspect your schedule. Look at what you typically spend your time doing and identify what you can eliminate or minimize. Then decide what is important to you and make a habit of prioritizing these. Get the most important tasks done first. #3: Look at what's really important to you. Consider what you are prioritizing. Focus your time on things that matter to you and reflect your values. As you write your to-do list ask yourself, "What is most important to accomplish and experience this month, week, and day- given my goals, needs, etc?

Spotlight: "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back...How to Remain Positive During a Job Search"
~Sue Arth
Founder, Sea of Change | |
A call came...finally an interview! My world can finally settle down and get back to normal, I can spend again! If you are like most job seekers, an interview opportunity is reason enough to celebrate but you have to remember you don't have the job...yet. It's hard to temper your enthusiasm with this reality but it's in your best interest to separate your emotions from the opportunity.
Staying Positive:
-
Reframe the idea of a job search into a journey. Life is a journey and a job search is just one trail on the journey. It may be a straight road or one with twists and turns. Enjoy the ride. Re-framing a job search in this way takes some of the pressure off, and gives you permission to find the way that fits for you. If you could do anything you wanted, what would that be?
-
Be realistic. With 6 applicants for every job, look at the odds. You might be the most qualified, but there are many factors outside of your control. For your own self-preservation, keep searching and interviewing until you receive an offer you are willing to accept.
