Here's a clue that I took from someone I knew a couple of years ago.

 

I had a neighbor, who sadly passed a couple of years ago. He and his wife had the most beautiful backyard, with peaceful ponds and full of exotic and colorful landscaping. They created this masterpiece together over the years. They showed me photos of what it looked like when they first began the project. The yard was completely empty, packed with hard dirt.They decided what things they needed to do to create the yard they wanted and made a plan, deciding on the type of landscaping and proper placement for each piece. I admired what they had accomplished and wished for my yard to look that way too.

 

After my neighbor passed, his wife told me that she never realized how much work he had put into the yard until now. She realized how much because of the work it took to maintain the beautiful yard...pulling weeds, raking and other aspects of gardening that are not so "fun". It was hard enough just keeping up with planting and replanting her favorite flowers. Her yard remains very beautiful and serves as a wonderful memorial for her husband.

 

My neighbors' story reminds me of just how important it is to plan and then keep doing the right things we are doing to create the life we want and reach our goals.
