Greetings!
Welcome to the August edition of the Economic Development
Division newsletter. In spite of
the continuing global economic downturn, we are continuing to see signs of
progress in Cincinnati.
Frost Brown Todd recently announced that they will
be moving into Great American Tower. EDD provided economic incentives to Advantage
IQ and FirstGroup America to assist in their expansions. We continue to work with Procter &
Gamble as they bring 650 employees from a suburban location into their General
Offices in the Central Business District. Other deals are in the works.
The current budget challenge facing the City of
Cincinnati only underscores the need for a focused and diligent effort on the
part of the Economic Development Division to retain and expand existing
companies as well as to aggressively pursue new job creation opportunities with
business recruitment. To support this effort, we will be increasing our Business Retention visits and continue to work
with the Cincinnati USA Regional Partnership to market the City as a prime location to do
business.
If you would like a Development Officer to visit your company to
discuss your plans, needs and concerns for the future, please respond to this
e-mail newsletter or call (513) 352-2499. We are committed to retain
and grow the businesses in our community as well as to seek out new companies and
industries to locate in our city.
Enjoy this edition of the newsletter and please
contact us with your comments and suggestions on how we might better serve your
company and the City of Cincinnati.

On July 23rd, 2009, Eagle Realty Group and Frost BrownTodd announced that the law firm signed a long-term lease to relocate its Cincinnati office to the Great American Tower at Queen City Square. Frost Brown Todd anticipates moving into the new office space by late 2011.
"We are extremely pleased to have Frost Brown Todd become a key tenant in the newest, largest and most prominent office tower in downtown Cincinnati," said Mario San Marco, president of Eagle Realty Group. "Our building - the first 'green' building in Cincinnati's central business district - will offer Frost Brown Todd incredible views, state-of-the-art features, and brand new construction."
Frost Brown Todd will occupy 4 floors that total over 100,000 square feet of office space located on floors 30 to 33. The new lease brings the total leasing at the Great American Tower at Queen City Square to over 815,000 square feet. That is more than 80% of the 1 million square foot complex. There are only 7 floors remaining, all near the the top of the tower.
"This deal signals Frost Brown Todd's optimism about Greater Cincinnati, the continued growth of our firm and our commitment to deliver exceptional service to our clients," said George E. Yund, Managing Member of Frost Brown Todd.
"We are a regional firm, but our biggest office is here in Cincinnati, and this move demonstrates our confidence in this city and its downtown. We're looking forward to 2011 when we make the move to this landmark building and, in the meantime, watching its exciting construction," added Jill P. Meyer, the Member-in-Charge of Frost Brown Todd's Cincinnati office.
