Spring 2010
Dear BOLD Friends,

I love Spring. Everything feels like it's giving birth! And this season BOL
D locations are giving birth to so many beautiful "babies" - theatrical productions and red tents, that is! I hope you enjoy reading about it all in our Spring E-News.

I'd also like to share with you news that starting Mothers Day I have embarked on a commitment to take one yoga nidra nap every day for the entire year! Why? Because I think at every stage of mothering we need naps and I know that yoga nidra is a nap that has the power to change your life. So I'm doing an experiment because like most moms I'm beyond-busy and I could easily say "I have no time to nap" until my boys go off to college, but what if I did take a nap every day -  slow down - and what if slowing down is the key to waking us up? (and making better birth choices!). I'm feeling curious and if you are too consider joining me, even for just one week this year. I'm writing about my napping journey on my Mothering Magazine blog (click here to read). I invite you to check it out and tell me about your yoga nidra naps (or why you're not napping) in the comments section.

Being BOLD mea
ns many things. (you could organize a BOLD Red Tent, or take a yoga nidra nap!) This Spring might be just the time to explore what it means to you!

BOLDly,
Karen

BOLD Montreal uses Alexander Technique with actors

Read Karen's interview with BOLD Organizer, Maude Poulin on how BOLD Montreal is using the Alexander Technique with actors in "Birth."  Here's an exceJillian Fort Wayne 2010rpt:

Karen: Why do you think the play "Birth" is a good piece to use the Alexander Technique with actors?

Maude: This play is just perfect for the Alexander Technique because it's all about developing global consciousness. For women, if she can develop trust and global consciousness of herself, it can help her to make choices that will allow her to be the actress of her own birth. The energy will flow.

BOLD France mother: The Best People to Produce "Birth" Are Ordinary People

"My name is Fabie
Fabiennenne, from South East of France. I am a 36 years old mother of a son named Quentin who will turn 18 months at the end of May 2010. Our family lives in a village called Mouans Sartoux which is 20mn away from Cannes, famous for its film Festival.

I am involved in a production of "Birth" which will be played next 5th of November in Mouans Sartoux tanks to the idea of a doula, Frederique Horowitz who is highly involved in Birth matters in France.

I recently chose to play the character of Natalie......... wishing that my next pregnancy and childbirth will be surrounded by her energy, sensibility and deep confidence that giving birth is just a natural process that women bodies, like other animals, know from inside! Giving birth means to open the body and let the energy go all around.... My body feels that this production of "Birth" will bring a lot of positive energy in France !!!! I think women will give birth more and more in a loving kindness atmosphere if they can feel surrounded and listened by other women/mother."
