I have wanted to buy a Toyota Rav4 for as long as I can remember. Last November I decided I would buy one in January 2009. My car is 10 years old and has almost 300,000kms on it - so it is time.
However in December 2008 my friend Nancy, who lives in Shanghai, and I decided that we would go to Thailand for a month or so in December 2009. I decided to put off buying a new vehicle until I returned from my trip. My car has never caused me any problems, so I knew another year with it would be just fine. (It is also a Toyota so it runs perfectly!)
About 2 weeks ago my husband, Rodney, told me he heard on the radio that Toyota was offering a 0% interest sale right now. It didn't really matter to me because I wasn't buying for another 9 months. However I made a mental note if I remembered while I was on the Internet sometime, I would look into it.
2 days later a friend and I were on the phone and she was talking about her husband buying a quad. It reminded me of the 0% financing, so while her and I were on the phone, I went to Toyota's web page and checked it out. It was only on until the end of April, which at that time was less than a week away.
The next morning I was telling Rodney about what I had found on their web page and how it was a great deal - but I was still going to wait until 2010 to buy one. We talked a bit more about it and then he went outside. The phone rang and as I looked at the call display I almost fainted - it was Silverwood Toyota - the dealership closest to me. I was in such shock that I didn't answer the phone. I just stared at it. I hadn't put any of my information on the web when I checked out their web page. And they didn't leave a message. I wondered if maybe my Angels were trying to get my attention??
A couple days later I just happened to be coming through Lloydminster and had a couple hours to spare. Even though I have been dreaming about owning a Rav 4 for years - I had actually never driven one. So I decided to stop at Silverwood and try it out - cause then when I bought in 2010 I would know if this was truly what I wanted. Of course I LOVED it!!
I was talking about it with Rodney again and he said some things that are very out of character for him - at one point his exact words were "Go up to the salesperson, tell them you want a fully loaded, red Rav4 and you want it now!" I wondered again if my Angels were giving me a message. (anyone who knows Rodney knows he would prefer if I drove my car until the end of her life - which could be another 10 years or so!)
I chose to go with the flow that was guiding this whole process and well, you guessed it - I now have a ravishing Rav 4 - fully loaded and RED!
It was such an incredible process because I didn't plan it. And because of that I didn't expect it, I didn't push or pull for it - it just happened. Every step of the process flowed, easily & gracefully. I am filled with such intense gratitude when I think about how it all happened.
I will take many things from this experience, but the greatest being - let life happen. If you are feeling like you are pushing or pulling - take a step back, get back into the flow and allow whatever is the best for you, to happen. It always does when we get out of the way.
May your life flow with grace and ease and be filled with many blessings,
Glenyce Hughes
