I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday so far!
It is amazing to me that 2009 is only hours away! It seems as though 2008 rushed by so quickly.
This is truly my favorite time of the year. The symbolism of looking back at the year & then consciously making changes in your life so that you are closer to/living your dreams is so exciting!
I encourage you all to find some way to review your life from 2008 - keep what you love and and release what isn't supporting you. Make some goals - what do you want 2009 to look like for you? You are the only one who can decide. Then take action.
I will spend the majority of tomorrow doing just that. (see article below)
As I had predicted in January 2008 - it was a year of great change. Some easy and some not, but all of it wonderful in the end.
I just watched an amazing video about Wisdom that I share with you all as you step into 2009:
May you step into Who you Really Are with love and joy in 2009 & beyond!!
Many, many blessings,
Glenyce Hughes
Life Review for 2008

If you have been reading my newsletters for a few years you may remember this article from 2006. It has been updated...

With 2008 fast approaching one of the things I like to do is review the past year. In my journal I write down everything that I am grateful for from the past year, what I've learned (or as I prefer to call it re-membered), and what patterns I choose to release. I also review the previous years goals to see if they are accomplished, need to be revamped or deleted completely. I prefer to do this on my own with no interruptions and it usually takes about 2 hours. If that sounds like too much then you could break it down into smaller time frames and do it over a few days.

This is not time to belittle or judge yourself if you haven't come as far as you would like. When done with love and compassion this is an extremely empowering exercise. Honesty and humour are also necessary for this process to be successful.

First ask Archangel Jeremiel to assist you during your life review. One of his main jobs is to help us perform life reviews so we can create the lives that our hearts desire. His energy best vibrates with the crystal amethyst so place it within 3 feet of you while you do this.

I then break my life into the following 9 sections:
Career/Business
Creativity
Health
Joy/Social Life
Relationship
Home
Spirituality
Education
Financial

Taking one page for each section I start of with what I am grateful for in that section of my life from 2008. A few examples are: in Relationships I am grateful for my loving and supportive husband, in Joy/Social Life I am grateful for my amazing sisters and our sister weekend in June, in Spirituality I am grateful for the time and motivation to meditate each day.

Add to each section a list of all the accomplishments. This is no time to be shy - be sure to toot your own horn! A few examples: in Education one of my accomplishments was that I took the Basic and Advanced Theta courses, in Financial I have paid off more than 1/2 my credit card debt in 3 months, and in Career I held many amazingly successful & joyful Reiki workshops throughout the year.

Add to each section a list of what was learned or
re-embered in 2008. A few examples: in Health I
re-embered how important physical exercise is to my body, mind & spirit and in Career I remembered how important it is to take time to relax.

From this list I will look at any pattern of behaviour that needs to be released. A few examples: in Health I chose to easily & healthfully release the pattern of eating food that does not strengthen my body and in Career I chose to easily and healthfully release the feeling of fear of stepping into Who I Really AM.

There are a few different things that I use to release patterns. If it is a pattern I have used for a long time, such as the unhealthy eating, I will use EFT and Theta. If I feel it will be a fairly easy pattern to release I will write a letter to God asking for help, writing out all the reasons why I am ready to release it and then I burn the letter. I find this works best if done on a Full Moon as the energy is that of releasing.

I then look at my previous years goals and rate them, accomplished, partially accomplished and not accomplished. I look honestly at each of the partially or not accomplished and decide if it needs to be revamped or deleted completely. This is an area that can get tricky as sometimes we choose goals that are no longer in line with Who we Really Are. I will state my goal with my eyes closed and focus on my heart area. If it feels good or light, I'll keep it, if it feels heavy or stagnant then I will look at changing it or deleting it.

I then add to each section new goals for 2008. I like to keep them fairly realistic, but big enough that I have to step outside my comfort zone to accomplish them. The last step is where I will write all my goals out and section them by due date, and put them into my daytimer. This way I hold myself accountable to ensure they are complete.

Just by consciously putting your energy and focus on the past and taking from it what you need to help you move forward in your future, you are creating the life your heart desires. All the best in 2009!

This is a new addition to my newsletter. You are welcome to email me with a general question you have about the spirit world or anything metaphysical. I will include it in the newsletter, along with the answer.

Dear Glenyce,
My Dad died 3 years ago. I have had dreams where he was still alive and we were joking and visiting like we used to. I wake up feeling wonderful cause it was so real, but also so sad because he isn't here any more. I have read in books about how easy it is for them to come to us in our dreams.
However I have had dreams lately where he is in them but he is angry or won't talk to me or just ignores me. What is going on? Did I do something to make him angry?
Thanks, Kane

Dear Kane,
Yes you are very right - when you dream of your Dad and it feels wonderful and real, that is really him coming through to you from the Spirit world. They work very hard to do this for us. And like all skills - some spirits are better at it then others.
As for the dreams where he is angry or ignoring you - those dreams are more an emotional release from your day to day life. Feels like you have been under incredible stress with the man in your life currently, and as Dad's can represent the important men in your life - it is more symbolic of what is going on in your life currently.
Your Dad loves you so much, and wants you to know he is always with you, guiding you. Ask him to help with the relationship issue.
Blessings,
Glenyce

Healthy Immunity
by Lorna Vanderhaeghe
As the friend who recommended this book to me said - this book doesn't just tell you to eat apples, but it tells you why you would want to eat apples.
A great book to help you understand your immune system and your body.

Living the 80/20 Way
by Richard Koch
The book is based on the claim that the great majority of results comes from a small minority of causes or effeort, that 80% of results flow from just 20% of the causes. For example - 80% of sales usually come from 20% of customers.
The book tells you how to work less, worry less, succeed more and enjoy more!
