LogoI thought I would have an amazing story to share with you this month. At the time I am writing it, I'm not sure how amazing it is going to turn out to be. However, I will share with you anyway, and we'll see in the next few days, and possibly months, how it turns out.

My uncle Jack crossed over on June 13. It was a very sad day for many of us, not only because we love him and will miss his physical presence, but, as with most deaths, it reminds us of previous ones - the most being my Grandma, his Mom, only 11 months earlier.

Jack's funeral was on June 18. Rod and I decided we would look at a newly listed acreage on our way to Turtleford for the funeral. On the way we noticed another real estate sign on the highway. When we met the realtor at the acreage we had booked to look at, it was quickly evident that wasn't where we want to live. So we asked him about the other sign. It was a different company than he was associated with, so he wasn't sure, but said he would drive down the road to check it out.

We followed him as it would connect us to the highway we needed. A couple km's down the road, not being able to find the place, he turned around and said he would check with the listing company when he got back to the office.

We continued on the road and there it was. It was well treed and there were 3 bunnies playing in the yard while we stopped on the road. We phoned our realtor back and asked him to get us more info. He called shortly after saying how shocked the listing agent was to already have interest as he wasn't even finished the paper work!

As miracles happen, we were able to look at it that night on our way home from the funeral. It is beautiful. A 4 level split like I have always wanted. Wonderful space with a separate entrance for my business, 14 acres with 2 garden spots, lots of water and so much more. It was everything we had wanted and more. We put an offer in, and after a few times back and forth, it was accepted. Using a mortgage broker we got an amazing rate and our payment was going to be even less than the one we currently make! WOW! Truly a dream come true! Everything was falling into place. I was pretty sure that Uncle Jack and Gram were helping line this miracle up!

This was where I had hoped the story could keep going and I would tell you that we are packing and our move date is September 15. Except yesterday we got a call from our realtor. For those who have never bought/sold a house - there is a clause that most people put into the condition of selling their house - a 24, 48, or 72 hour clause - which means if someone else comes along with a better offer, then the owners can give you that many hours to remove all the conditions on your current offer, or they are going to go with the better offer.

There is a 48 hour clause on our agreement - and the call yesterday was to say that the 48 hour clause has come into effect - and we have until tomorrow morning to take all conditions off our offer. Which basically means we need to sell our current acreage to someone who can pay cash for it. Not impossible, but sure feels like it.

I don't know exactly what will happen. I do know that I am protected by God and my Angels, so if there is a better place for us, it will show up, or if this is the best place for us, it'll work itself out.

I also know this all happened for a reason, so there are gifts in it for everyone. Maybe by already having an offer on the acreage, the people who just put the 2nd one on, went way above the asking price - and what a gift that would be for the sellers. Certainly one of the gifts for us is finding a different mortgage where the rate is so much better.

I'm excited to see how this all turns out. And I know, no matter how it does, it is exactly what it needs to be.
May you all have a wonder-filled, joyous and beautiful summer!
Blessings,
Glenyce
Truth About Gossip

"There was once a man who loved to gossip. He loved the attention it brought him, and could not stop himself from speaking about others, sometimes sharing the good they did, but most often sharing the mistakes they made.
"In time, however, he realized the harm his speech was causing and he sought to make amends. He went to his rabbi and explained the situation, and asked how he could make amends.
"The rabbi thought for a moment and instructed the man to go to the marketplace and purchase two of the finest feather pillows he could find. He should then take the pillows to the top of the mountain overlooking the village, tear them open, and spill the feathers into the wind.
"The man was surprised and pleased at the rabbi's advice. He thought repentance would be much harder than this. So he ran to the marketplace, purchased his pillows, and within an hour had scatter their feathers to the wind.
"He returned to the rabbi all aglow. He was ready to be forgiven for his gossiping. Not just yet, the rabbi told him. There was one more thing to do. He had to return to the mountain and repack the pillows with the feathers that he had scattered.
"'But that's impossible,' the man said. 'Those feathers have gone everywhere, there is no way I can take them back now.'"
"The rabbi nodded solemnly and said, 'What is true of the feathers is true of the words. Once spoke they can never be retrieved. The harm caused by gossip cannot be undone.'"
