November Mid Monthly Newsletter
November 15, 2009 |
Hi
Firstly, I would like to apologise for the tardiness of the newsletter - but unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans. Last Thursday, she took her fury out on us here in the wheatbelt of WA, by unleashing a massive thunderstorm upon us. There were crops destroyed, large gum trees uprooted or broken off, houses that lost roofing, shed that fell crumpling machinery, and power pole after power pole snapped off at the ground or knocked completely over - it slightly resembled a war zone! But the outcome was I have been without power since Thursday night - with it only being restored at 6pm Monday night! So therefore haven't been able to access a computer to get the newsletter out!
So now as we head towards December, it's time to seriously start thinking about Christmas! I so do not want to start! This year, CPC has taken a different direction - instead of usually presenting a Designer Kit in December, especially with Christmas in mind - we have decided that we will be launching our Christmas Designer Kit in January - so you already have the photos from Christmas - now you just need the supplies to scrap them.
We would also like to thank Kim - for being a fantastic part of our Design Team! Her kit layouts have been inspiring - and her chat amongst the Designers has been very soul lifting! Thanks so much Kim - we hoped you enjoyed your time with us as an Honorary Guest Designer for the past three months.
Next month we have a new 3 month Designer joining us... But.... you will have to wait and see who that is!
Marg has announced her dates for the 2010 retreats. So if you wish to join in for a fun weekend - remember to get in fast - as the retreats are limited to 12 people.
Until next time....
Stay safe 'n' happy scrapping

SCRAPPIN' AT THE ROCK
With the Shop now up and running, Marg is able to cater for mini retreats more often, rather than a couple of large camps twice a year. This means there are more times available for you to choose to attend a Scrapping Retreat at Country Papercraft.
Marg has dates available, so why not grab a group of friends, and chose a date that suits you and scrap for the whole weekend. Any one who attends one of the scrap retreats always come away learning something new, making new friends, and having a whole lot of fun.
For 2010 dates email Marg - countrypapercraft@reachnet.com.au

CHRISTMAS CARDS
So are you organised for Christmas? Do you make your own cards - I tend to make just a few special ones for my closest friends - the rest I just buy from the store - but shall I let you in on a secret - I am tarred with my mother's brush - I tend to write them out, put stamps on them and then never get around to posting them off.
This month the Lynlee and Deb have been busy creating their cards in preparation.

Quote Challenge
Quotes are a great source of inspiration, and also an important part of scrapbooking - they can say so much about a layout, a feeling, a moment in time. Deb will each month be challenging us all to use a particular quote in our scrapbooking. Even, if at this time you are unable to scrap with the quote, make sure you write them down for a time when inspiration strikes.
This month's quote is:
'The way to know life is to love many things'
- Van Gogh

Technique Challenge - Rolling and Tearing
Rolling and tearing played such a big part in scrapbooking over the past few years, but of late this trend has all but disappeared. Lynlee and Deb show us how this is making a comeback!
