March's Mid Monthly Newsletter
March 15, 2009 |
Hi
We would like to apologise for the lack of NEW GOODIES in store - but you see there was this unfortunate incident with the mail truck travelling to deliver mail to our Mail Centre. The Truck carrying our mail, swiped the side of a bridge, ripping open the fuel tank and bursting into flames - therefore destroying all the mail that was inward bound.
The clear faced envelopes we can all live without - but all those new papers, embellishments, flowers - well it's going to be hard. Luckily they will be able to be replaced under insurance, but we have to wait now until more supplies hit Australian shores, before they make their way to our shelves.
This hasn't affected any of our kit papers, so the new kits and add-on kits will continue to roll out.
Speaking of kits - the gorgeous March Designer Kit and Add-on SOLD OUT in 3 days!!!!! So if you want to secure the April Kit - I would suggest that you pre-order yours, or better still why not SUBSCRIBE to our KITS, this way you are guaranteed a kit each month for the length of your subscription.
Until next time....
Stay safe 'n' happy scrapping

Surprise Designer Competition
Each month one lucky shopper is chosen as a Surprise Designer. It is simple to enter, all you have to do is register in the FORUM and then place an order in 2 consecutive months. There is no limit to the amount you spend each month, just place an order. Each month one lucky shopper is chosen and when they receive their order in the mail they will receive a Surprise Designer Kit. All you do then is create your layouts, cards, mini albums, what ever you wish to create with your kit. Unlike the Designer kits you may add whatever elements you wish with the kit to create your layouts.
This Month's Surprise Designer is Loves2Scrap aka Lisa
The Surprise Designer Kits are a limited kit, and only available for a short time. If you would like to purchase a Kit, please place your order in the comments section of your order, when ordering online.

Too Cool For School
Lisa says she *had* to use Jessica's 1st Day at School photos, the papers were perfect for the dark background...and for her uniform.
Great use of the Kit Lisa, and Congratulations on being March's Surprise Designer!

St Patty's Day...
|
|
If you are Irish, March 17th is one of the biggest days in the calendar year! We had a couple of young Irish Girls, in our local town a couple of years back, and they planned big celebrations for St Patrick! The Beer was green, the food was green, they dyed their hair green, all their clothes they wore were green. It was all a wee bit much for these poor AUSSIE BLOKES - you don't mess with their BEER and turn it GREEN! But I remember it being a great night!
So in honor of ST PATTY we challenged the Designers to do their best with GREEN!
FLOUR, WATER, PAPERBAGS - created by Julie
Julie says "Boys will be Boys" and living in a house full of them makes for LOADS of laughter. Here Julie has created a double layout of her boys making flour bombs in the back yard. Julie uses Basic Grey Patterned Paper, Basic Grey Alphabets, Tim Holtz Grungeboard
MINTY - created by Leonie
What other colour would you use but green to scrap Kloe's new pet frog (isn't he just so cute?) says Leonie. She uses Basic Grey's Offbeat & Crate Paper's Static Ranges of paper, KAISERcraft Rhinestones. Leonie used the NEW CUTTLEBUG Create-a-flower Die to create the gorgeous Dragonfly used on her layout.

EXCAVATION - created by Deb
Deb has used Dreamstreet's Remember the Moments Paper Range, Fancy Pants Blossoms, KAISERcraft Rhinestones, Carolee's Creations Alphabet stickers, Making Memories Alphabet Stickers, KAISERcraft Scratched Alphabet Rub-ons.

Quote Challenge
Quotes are a great source of inspiration, and also an important part of scrapbooking - they can say so much about a layout, a feeling, a moment in time. Deb will each month be challenging us all to use a particular quote in our scrapbooking. Even, if at this time you are unable to scrap with the quote, make sure you write them down for a time when inspiration strikes.
This month's quote is:
' Loving Parents have Caring Children' - Chinese Proverb
LOVING PARENTS - created by Julie
Julie says she loves this photo, and says its her NEW favourite layout. I tend to agree with you Julie, such a loving father/son photo. Julie uses KAISERscrapbook papers, Green Tara Blossom, KAISERscrapbook Brads.
YEH RIGHT - created by Michelle
Michelle took a 'tongue in cheek' approach to this quote challenge, using it to scrap a photo of her children play fighting whilst on holidays. {well, the fighting happens everywhere, not just on holidays....} She uses Fresh Print Tangerine Peel Patterned Papers, Making Memories Alpha Stickers, Carolee's Alpha Stickers, Green Tara Blossoms, Making Memories Hat Pins, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Versacube Pinecone Ink, Heidi Swapp ghost clock & heart, Staz On Black ink
LOVING PARENTS - created by Lynlee
Lynlee has used Basic Grey's Patterned Paper, Bazzill and Core'd'nations Cardstock, A2Z Owl, Heidi Swapp & Carolee's Creations alphabets. By using both a black & white and coloured photo, Lynlee draws your eye directly to the contrast in colours of the photos.

CHERISH THESE MOMENTS - created by Leonie
Leonie has used Crate Paper's Prudence Range of Papers, Carolee's Creations Alphabets, KAISERscrapbook Rub-ons.

BLOG SKETCHES
Have you discovered the "Weekly Sketches" on the blog yet? Each Tuesday one of the Designers will have a new sketch on the blog. Just something to give you a little inspiration to scrap. This week Michelle posted her sketch.
HARVEST TIME - created by Marg
Marg has turned the sketch 90 degrees to suit the orientation of her photo. Marg uses SEI & KAISERscrapbook patterned papers, Carolee's Creations Alphabet Stickers, Heidi Swapp Transparency Clock, Scrapfx Cog, Bazzill Blossom
LAUGH SMILE - created by Julie
Julie has used two photos to create the effect of one large photo using the sketch. An overabundant supply of KAISERscrapbook papers, encouraged Julie to use these papers on her layout, she teams them with buttons and Bazzill Blossoms

Julie Challenges you...
Whilst Julie was looking through many of the online galleries available for inspiration she came across this layout from Jolene Pinaar. Thanks Jolene for the inspiration. Julie then went one step further and challenged the Designers to create a layout using Jolene's layout as inspiration.
 DREAM - created by Julie
Julie uses more of her KAISERscrapbook stash to create this gorgeous layout of her boys fishing. Absolutely stunning photo Julie, and great take of Jolene's layout.
Leonie has also used the layout for inspiration. You can see her layout HERE in the GALLERY
