Hi

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

From all of us here at COUNTRY PAPERCRAFT we would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy 2009!

May 2009 bring you all they joy and happiness that your heart desires!

January all so brings us one step closer to our BIG SURPRISE - which you will learn all about in our next MONTHLY NEWSLETTER!  The Designers are eagerly awaiting this big announcement! As our regular forum users will know, they have been baiting everyone for a while now with the news of the new changes.

Finally we would like to thank you for all your custom over the past year! We have gone from strength to strength, with the building of the new Bricks & Mortar store, the Designer Kits have gotten, in our opinion, bigger and better, and our newsletter is now flying out to the inbox of over 300 people!
Without your support and custom this would not have ever happened. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts - and we look forward to getting bigger and better in 2009!

Due to family holidays, and the festive season getting on top of us all, we will be only putting out this newsletter for the month of January.  The next newsletter will be the February newsletter. We apologise for this, but promise you that February's newsletter will be jam packed with inspiration!

Until Next Time

Around Deb's Scrapping Space

When we first started looking for a new home mid 2007, one of the stipulations was a dedicated scrap room for moi - well, if not dedicated then combined with the office but a room that could have the door closed on it so the mess wasnt noticeable to the outside world.

We found, and bought our new home late last year, but the renovations didnt start until early February.  Here it is December, and I am still waiting for my dedicated scrap room, which will be the last room to be done.

In the mean time I have a corner set up in the loungeroom, which means that I should keep the area clean, and it also means that I have trouble hiding stash from Daz :)

I have a large 1800mm x 1000mm dining table which houses my new computer, the desk lamps, plastic drawer set which contains all my alpha stickers and various rub-ons, various bottles of ribbons and blossoms, caddy for pens, tools, rulers, and the like, plastic bin containing packets of chippie alphas, 2 ring folder with alpha rub-ons, and various other bits and pieces, as well as my 600mm x 450mm cutting mat.

I also have a large 4 door pantry cupboard which has my wire shelving unit for my pp's, a box that 5 reams of copy paper came in which is the perfect size for my cardstock, as well as housing too many other items, most of which I dont know I have.

Since these pics were taken, I have also scored a MM Carousel and a MM Desktop Organiser (which are waiting for my new room so I can decorate them and set them up as I want too).  Also I managed to find and bring home from the Hospital before I left, a shelving unit, which holds the very few magazines I have now,and also bits and scraps.  when it is in its permanent place, I will store my albums on it.

Basically thats it from me.  If I ever get my dedicated room I will be sharing pics of it before, during and after set up - that I promise :)

Thanks for sharing my scrap space.

OBJECTS OF OUR AFFECTION

Sometimes we get hung up on scrapping photos with people in them, but what about the things that are important to use, that don't require nappies changing and feeding.

The Designers show us this month how to scrap all those everyday objects that are important to us!
They had to use one large photo and 3 smaller photos, and a choice of 3 patterned papers to create their layouts.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT - created by Lynlee

Lynlee chose to photograph her favorite Kost Boda bottles which she bought for herself a few years back and she absolutely adores them, they had a special box of their own when she shifted house, and they got here safely. Lynlee has ended up using 5 different patterned papers, 2 from Crate Mia collection and the other 3 from K&Co K-ology Hannah Scrap pad, Carolee's tiny alphas, Heidi Swapp ghost letters and Kaiser pearls, all available at CPC. The rest is from her stash including the gorgeous crocheted flower that her Aunty crocheted and dropped off on Christmas day, she just loves them.

IGGLE PIGGLE - created by Leonie

These photos are of Jack and his new buddy 'Igglepiggle' which he loves!!!
Leonie has used Crate paper Prudence range and Sassafrss Lass Indian summer, (the orange dottty one). Adorn it tiny letters  and some ribbons and letters from her stash.

STAIRWAY TO... - created by Deb

These pics are of Deb's recently installed staircase. She has only had to wait 9 months for them - pregnancy was easier.
Deb had used the fabulous Crate Paper Prudence Collection (papers and die cut embellishments) - they smell so yummy, and some SEI alpha stickers from a recent kit. All available from CPC. I have also used my fine brown Slick Writer for definition around the scalloped edges (made with my Threading Water punch - what a purchase that was!!)

CASE A LAYOUT

This month Michelle challenged us to case a layout that she chose from the gallery! It was hard to choose 1 single layout she tells us - but all the Designers were impressed with her choice.

Here is Kathleen's Layout "1968"

And here is Leonie's interpretations of Kathleen's Sketch

BELLA - created by Leonie

Congratulations Leonie on being the only Designer taking on the challenge....

Challenge the Designers

What would you like to see in the Newsletters? The Designers are always challenging you to create layouts for competitions and challenges, so now is your turn for payback.  The Designers will choose which challenge they would like to do and create layouts for the Newsletter.  So make sure you challenge them HERE, and keep your eye on the Newsletter to see the Designers squirm with your challenges.

Sun, Sea & Surf

Summer encourages us to use bright colours on our layouts. This month the Designer's were encouraged to use PUNCHES and STAMPS on their layouts.

Country Papercraft has a large range of Stamps and Punches to choose from - so why not check them out and see how you can add these to your layouts for a very cost effective way of adding embellishments to your layout.  Just remember the more you use them the more cost effective the tool becomes!

QUEEN OF THE FISHES - created by Leonie

Using the totally yummy Waterberry papers from KAISERscrapbooking, Leonie created this page of her daughter Kloe posing with her Dad's prize catch. A big king Fish.

Leonie also uses lots of KAISERcraft flowers and gems. The leaves stamps are also KAISERcraft and the letters are Thickers and  Carolee's Tiny Alphas.

POOLIN' ROUND - created by Deb

Deb has used her new Tim Holtz ransom mask for the title.
I have used the Fiskars Threading Water punch and my curly brackets punch that was a gift from Marg.  I have also used some Tim Holtz Grungeboard swirls and MM paint.
The patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine collection.

Designer's Tip

If your find that you are unsure exactly where to place a stamp on a page, all you  need to do is to stamp the image required onto a piece of tracing paper.Cut around the stamped image and place it on your layout. The tracing paper is hardly visible so you can move around the stamped image and get a good idea of where the best placement on the page will be. You can also stamp multiple images and use them together.
