Just Because....
Hi

Christmas is creeping closer and closer, with only 10 more sleeps until the the day the man in the red suit comes shooting down your chimney.  How prepared are you?

I know I for one are no where near prepared - although I do have my Christmas cards made and posted - which is way more than I did have at this time last year.

I don't know about you, but this year has just flown past - many things have happened in the World of Country Papercraft.  The new shop has been completed, we have changed forums and gotten that up and running, hosted quite a few cybercrops, and competitions, posted many challenges and hosted numerous swaps.  Thank you to the talented Designers who give up their time willingly to create these challenges and tasks, host the swaps and keep the chatter in the forum going.  Without your dedication I don't dream of imagining where we would be.

Thanks to you, all our readers, forum members and guests of the gallery, who pop in to see what is happening in the world of CPC.  We hope that you enjoy seeing all the work that is on display - every talented creation - every layout that is filled with the creator's heart and soul.

We look forward to moving on to bigger and better things in the new year - so make sure you stay up to date by reading the BLOG and recieving the newsletter.  Pop into the FORUM or GALLERY occassionally to catch up on all the wonderful art work, new products and amazing tools.

Until next time....

Stay safe 'n' happy scrapping

Surprise Designer Competition

Each month one lucky shopper is chosen as a Surprise Designer.  It is simple to enter, all you have to do is register in the FORUM and then place an order in 2 consecutive months.  There is no limit to the amount you spend each month, just place an order. Each month one lucky shopper is chosen and when they receive their order in the mail they will receive a Surprise Designer Kit.  All you do then is create your layouts, cards, mini albums, what ever you wish to create with your kit.  Unlike the Designer kits you may add whatever elements you wish with the kit to create your layouts.

This Month's Surprise Designer is Scrapping Queen aka Barbie

The Surprise Designer Kits are a limited kit, and only available for a short time.  If you would like to purchase a Kit, please place your order in the comments section of your order, when ordering online.
Challenge the Designers
Kris has challenged the Designers to use a book page on their layout.  This trend is becoming a common practice.  And makes for a great embellishment.  To make your pages acid free either use an PH spray to coat the book page - or just tuck it in so it doesn't touch your photograph, which then will allow your photo to be archival safe.

CUPPA TIME - created by Lynlee

Lynlee has used Crate's new Prudence Collection, along with some ScrapFX lanky alphas, and Carolee's Tiny Alpha Stickers to create her title, combined with Hambly Rub-ons & KAISERcraft Rhinestones, the addition of the bookpage sets the whole layout off!

TONIGHT YOU {SHINED} BRIGHT - created by Leonie

Leonie used the KAISERscrapbook Wish upon range to create this layout, she says these papers are versatile as they don't scream "Christmas" therefore can be used on any layout for any time of the year.

CLEVER GIRL - created by Marg

Marg has used KAISERscrapbooking's What a Hoot Range to create this page of her daughter Renee shearing her first sheep. Marg has also included on her page Bazzill Blossoms, Heidi Swapp Transparency Clockface, and some of her secret santa stash. Ewwww, did you notice the plastic fly on her page???

GOLF SWING - created by Michelle

Michelle has used a page out of a Jack Nicklaus Golf Technique book in her layout of her daughter practicing her golf swing. Michelle uses Basic Grey's Ambrosia Range in her layout, along with Carolee's Creations Alphabet Stickers, KAISERcraft Rhinestones, Bazzill and Green Tara Blossoms.

Thanks for the great challenge Kris, and inspiring us to grab an old book and create new ways of using it as an embellishment.

Challenge the Designers

What would you like to see in the Newsletters? The Designers are always challenging you to create layouts for competitions and challenges, so now is your turn for payback.  The Designers will choose which challenge they would like to do and create layouts for the Newsletter.  So make sure you challenge them HERE, and keep your eye on the Newsletter to see the Designers squirm with your challenges.

Today's Designer Tip

Do you find it hard to place KAISERcraft's bling & pearls? Today's handy tip will help you.  Simply using your craft blade, slide the tip under the glue backing on the gem - enough to lift if off the page.  Then simply place the gem where you require it on your page, secure with your finger and slide your blade out. Very simple - but oh so easy, and saves you fiddling around and losing little gems!
Quote Challenge

Quotes are a great source of inspiration, and also an important part of scrapbooking - they can say so much about a layout, a feeling, a moment in time.  Deb will each month be challenging us all to use a particular quote in our scrapbooking.  Even, if at this time you are unable to scrap with the quote, make sure you write them down for a time when inspiration strikes.

This month's quote is:

Christmas is not as much about opening presents, as opening our hearts
- Janice Maeditere

CHRISTMAS IS... - created by Michelle

Michelle uses Basic Grey's Ava range of papers, to create a non traditional coloured layout of pinks, purples and green.  She also incorporates Carolee's Creation alphabet stickers, Green Tara blossoms and KAISERcraft Rhinestones

OH CHRISTMAS TREE - created by Deb

Deb uses KAISERscrapbook's Countdown and Dash Away ranges to create this layout using her quote. Deb also incorporates KAISERcraft's Rhinestone Christmas Bling Shapes into her layout.

HO HO HO! - created by Lynlee

Lynlee has used Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding and Fruit Cake to create her Christmas morning layout.
DOUBLE UP

Creating double pages can be a hard thing.  Julie does this with ease, so this month she challenges us to create our own double page layouts.

DOUBLE DIGITS - created by Deb

By mirror imaging her two pages, Deb has brought her pages together.  She has used Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding papers.

HELLO WABBIT - created by Lynlee

Lynlee has also mirror imaged her layout - by grouping the photos together in the middle of the pages she has created a sense that the layout is one complete page.
Lynlee uses Basic Grey's Offbeat Range.

A tip to help in creating double page layouts is to join your two background cardstock together using a piece of doublesided tape, so in essence you are creating one 24 x 12 inch layout. Then when your layout is finished just remove the tape and cut whatever embellishments or paper you have added over the join in half.

Just Because....

This weekend we had a Scrap-all-day in the Shop and the Forum, the Designer's challenged the Members to a create a few layouts.  Here are what the Designers did with their challenges and more....

SUMMER - created by Deb

Deb's challenge was to use all these elements on a page:
 * Edge distressing, of the cardstock, patterned papers and/or pictures,
 * Layering
 * Using white space
 * with Non standard photo size, ie not 6x4 or 5x7
 * and a cluster of something, somewhere

WISH LIST - created by Julie

Julie challenged the Forum users to create a layout with a list - and not using photos.

ABSORPTION - created by Leonie

Leonie says that she couldn't go past Cosmos Cricket's Jack's World range to scrap these photos of Jack, who discovered that the quickest way to eat a "paddle pop" is to absorb it through his skin.

CHRISTMAS GOODIES - created by Julie

SHE DID IT AGAIN - created by Marg

Marg has used Leonie's December Sketch Challenge from the Forum to create this gorgeous layout of her good friend on her wedding day recently.  The KAISERscrapbook's Blushed range of papers is perfect for this photo!
