Country Papercraft's
October's Mid Monthly Newsletter
October 15, 2008 |
Hi
It is now only 10 days until Scrappin' at the Rock 2008. There are still some day places available for those who just wish to attend for the day. Please contact Marg 08 90469096 as soon as possible to register your place. If you are unable to come for the whole weekend, why not just book in for a day, or even just for a class. The gorgeous Lynlee has been busy creating 2 classes for those who wish to join in. Don't miss out on these - 1 layout class and a card class, there are some sneak peeks of the classes further down in the newsletter.
Scrappin' at the Rock, is once again being held in the hall. A great weekend filled full of fun and friends, and lots of chatting and scrapping. The whole weekend costs just $85.00 (plus your accommodation - there are varied choices, Marg can provide more details) which includes your meals. So what a great way to spend your weekend.
The building of the shop is going full steam ahead, the carpets are being done today, the shelving is in, the kitchen is fully functional and some stock will be moved in there this week. Marg and her band of merry workers have been working full steam ahead to get the shop finished before harvest starts (something tells me that Marg's family wants their house back!) Check out the BLOG for some updated photos being added over the next few days.
Until next time....
Stay safe 'n' happy scrapping

Surprise Designer Competition
Each month one lucky shopper is chosen as a Surprise Designer. It is simple to enter, all you have to do is register in the FORUM and then place an order in 2 consecutive months. There is no limit to the amount you spend each month, just place an order. Each month one lucky shopper is chosen and when they receive their order in the mail they will receive a Surprise Designer Kit. All you do then is create your layouts, cards, mini albums, what ever you wish to create with your kit. Unlike the Designer kits you may add whatever elements you wish with the kit to create your layouts.
This month's lucky Surprise Designer is Kris!

Challenge the Designers |
|
This month Susan challenged the Designers to create layouts using
spots and stripes! Many paper ranges include spots and stripes in their design, and we always tend to purchase them. There is something about spots and stripes that attract our eye.
Laugh - created by Julie
Julie has used KAISERscrapbooking's Everblooming Range - Blooming and Marigold. Teamed with matching Green Tara Blossoms, Thickers Foam Alphabets & Rhonna Farrer Clear Swirl Stamps.
SMILE - created by Deb
Deb has used KAISERscrapbooking's Cafe Culture range of Papers - Cappucino & Macchiato. She also uses KAISERcraft's Pearls.
WINTER BEACH BUMS - created by Lynlee
Lynlee has used Crate and Jenny Bowlin patterned papers, Heidi Swapp Ghost letters, Cosmo Cricket Rub-on alphas, Prima blossoms and Kaiser pearls.
NEW COAT FOR YOU - created by Michelle
Michelle has used Basic Grey's Offbeat Papers - and edited her photo to black and white so that the colours appear brighter. She has also used Polar Bear Express Alphabet Stickers, KAISERcraft Rhinestones, and Green Tara and Bazzill blossoms.
Thanks for the Challenge Susan!

When cutting with a craft knife, turn your paper, not your knife. This will help you round corners without having the knife slip out of place.

RENOVATIONS
Now that Spring has arrived, many of us take opportunity to get some of those jobs that we have been avoiding to do over winter. So here are some of the Designers takes on their renovations.
{it don't mean a thing if you ain't got that} SWING - created by Michelle
Michelle had great pleasure in sitting on the front verandah watching her son take to a "Flinder's Range" wattle that needed removing from her garden. Michelle uses Basic Grey's Archaic range Papers, along with Tim Holtz Grungeboard Alphas, Versacube Pinecone ink, Carolee's Creations Alphabet Stickers, and Green Tara Blossoms
KITCHEN RENOS - created by Deb
When Deb purchased her new house it so desperately needed a new kitchen, her dreams came true, and the installation made an excellent photo opportuntiy. Deb has used DreamStreet's Jack Paper Range, and the fabulous Threading Water Punch from Fiskars.

Quote Challenge
Quotes are a great source of inspiration, and also an important part of scrapbooking - they can say so much about a layout, a feeling, a moment in time. Deb will each month be challenging us all to use a particular quote in our scrapbooking. Even, if at this time you are unable to scrap with the quote, make sure you write them down for a time when inspiration strikes.
This month's quote is:
"Anyone who never made a mistake,
has never tried anything new. ~ Albert Einstein"
Knitting - created by Deb
Deb uses some of the leftover papers from DreamStreet in October's Designer Kit, and Carolee's Alphabet Stickers (a scrapbooker's best friend she says)
