The Designers all chose to use the KAISERscrapbook JADE Range of papers.  Thanks Lisa for the Challenge.

Today's Designer Tip

To stop wastage from your paint bottles, unscrew the cap and use the paint directly from the bottle when painting small items.  Another tip is to use a cotton bud tip to paint your small items with, when finished just throw it in the bin.  No mess to clean up.

A TRUE TEST OF FAITH - created by Leonie
Leonie has hidden her journalling of the events from these photos behind the pictures on the note paper you see peeking out from behind the matted photos.

WE ARE FAMILY - created by Julie
The layering, the big title, and the row of buttons take away the fact that she is using a small photograph, the darker colours in the photo draw your eye straight to that first.

SAMUEL @ 6WKS - created by Deb
Deb has layered the Scrapbooking Australia 'Baby Cakes' Paper combining with the blue 'Night Sky' Versamark ink, and the addition of the blue painted chipboard embellishments to create this layout.

SWEET BABE - created by Lynlee
Lynlee has used some of the gorgeous new Crate Paper 'Sweet Branch' range to create this beautiful layout of herself.

ALEXANDER - created by Michelle
This is the only photo that Michelle has of her husband as a baby.  Being a small photo she has filled in some of the spaces by using a larger title and the big flourish with Grungeboard and Blossoms.

National Scrapbooking Day Challenges

During the National Scrapbooking Day Cyber Crop, the Designers set challenges for the cyber crop participants.  Because we felt that it was unfair to challenge all you guys and not challenge themselves, this week the Designers have been busy creating layouts for each of the challenges.  Some of the Designers had created layouts over the weekend - those that were lucky enough to be able to scrap, and not have things pop up and put a 'kybosh' on their creativity.

SKETCH CHALLENGE

Each fortnight Leonie sources for us sketches to create layouts with.  Her sketches are always inspiring and fun to do.  There are many places on the internet that you can source sketches.  Simply by searching "scrabooking sketches" in your search engine, such as Google, Live, or Yahoo. You can even design your own sketches.

A sketch can form the good base for any layout.

The May Monthly Sketch is from Cosmos by ScrapLdees, used with permission.

Leonie and Deb have used the sketch to create these layouts.

APRIL {'08} - created by Leonie
Leonie has turned the sketch 90 degrees clockwise so that she was able to use a portrait photo.

FATHER & SON - created by Deb
Instead of the torn note paper effect on the sketch Deb has scalloped her paper to achieve a similar look.
