April's Mid Monthly Newsletter
April 15, 2008 |
Hi
Welcome to the next jammed pack edition of our Newsletter.
Thank you to all those who responded to our survey. And congratulations to the winner of the voucher for participating.
The Birthday Celebrations are now over, and we are busy sweeping up the left over confetti, and picking up empty glasses from the cyber Beer Garden. If you missed all the fun you can still catch up with the creations from our Blind Scrapping Chat on Friday Night HERE. Thanks to Leonie who ran this Blind Scrapping Session. Thanks to Deb who posted the Daily ATC challenge - there are lots of scrappers now waiting patiently for the next ATC swap to occur in the forum. If you missed the ATC's you can see them HERE.
Did you see our NEWSFLASH?
If you missed it - we would love you to welcome the new Designer Lynlee. Lynlee was one of our guest designers, and she has graciously accepted the invitation to become a full time Designer. We look forward to seeing your layouts back in the Newsletter Lynlee.
Stay safe 'n' happy scrapping

April Designer Kit
April's Kit is one for the boys! It features KAISERscrapbooking double-sided patterned papers in the Thrillseeker range.
We are probably biased, but we feel that Country Papercraft's Designer Kits are great value for money, with enough supplies to create 2 - 4 layouts, with an off the page project thrown in occasionally.

MINI ALBUM
BUNDLE OF JOY
Great work with the kit Barbie.
Have you registered to be a SURPRISE DESIGNER? If you are not a member of the FORUM you can still register by emailing countrypapercraft@gmail.com to be placed on the list. All you need to do then is to order by the 20th of the month - in two consectutive months - to be placed in the draw. If your name is pulled out you recieve the kit FREE in your order. You then create a layout or two with the kit and email it back to us to be included in the newsletter. When you are creating your Surprise Designer Kit you are not limited to using only what is in the kit, you can add your own embellishments if you need too. So why not get your name into the draw?

Challenge the Designers
What would you like to see in the Newsletters? The Designers are always challenging you to create layouts for competitions and challenges, so now is your turn for payback. The Designers will choose which challenge they would like to do and create layouts for the Newsletter. So make sure you challenge them HERE, and keep your eye on the Newsletter to see the Designers squirm with your challenges.
Our first challenge was from QueenGeek who wrote:
"I'd love to see some getting back to basics layouts - just good design principles without eye-catching embellishments which compensate for a multitude of sins IMO. Pages like: cardstock only more than 3 photos 100 words or more of journalling handmade embellishments using only CS or PP (things like tags, journalling boxes, paper piecing, punchies) hand cut title I could list a gazillion things! And I'd really like to challenge one very clever, very skilled, very creative designer to have a go at using the above list on just one page without it looking cluttered or busy. Now that's a challenge. "
Well.....
We took you up on that challenge!
A DAY AT THE BEACH - created by Lynlee
Lynlee has used 2 pieces of Cardstock, 112 words of journalling, stamped and punched flowers, and stamped and cut out the arrow for her handmade embellishments, stamped and handcut most of the title, and she has used 9 photos in total.
NZ - created by Julie
Julie has used 3 pieces of cardstock for this challenge. It also challenged her to use her Sizzix to cut out the hinges, flowers and title. A white gel pen was the only other product Julie used on her layout. She has used 5 photos.
SO IT BEGAN - created by Marg
Marg has used 2 sheets of cardstock to create the first layout for her album of the NEW SHOP being built. She hand cut the title and punched flowers, used the Sizzix for the Jan '08, Staz on Ink for the stamping. Lots of hand journalling. 6 photos were used in Marg's creation
@ 9 MONTHS - created by Leonie
Leonie used 2 sheets of cardstock to create this layout of her son Jack @ 9 months. Using 6 of the cutest photos! Lots of tearing, inking and doodling. A very skillfully hand cut title, brads and embroidery floss for the hand stitching.
GARDENER - created by Deb
Only cardstock, hand cut title, homemade tags, punched retros - both big and small, 5 photos and more than 100 words journalling were used in the creation of this layout.
SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO COME UP TO BREATHE - created by Michelle
Michelle has used only 1 sheet of white cardstock to create this layout. She cut the background out behind the photos to create the title, which is hand cut, as well as computer generated. 3 simple retro punchies and hand journalling complete the layout. She has used 8 photos taken at her daughter's swimming carnival.
So how did we go with the challenge??? By clicking on the layouts you will be able to leave comments for the Designers in the GALLERY

Do you mix your own paint colors, only to find you have too much paint mixed? Store paint covered in gladwrap in the fridge. It stops it from drying out and is ready to use when you need it again. |
