Blue River Charity Ride

The 3rd Blue River Century in Summit County is coming up next month and we'd like to give a great big shout out to Marie Wilson and all the folks that have helped her put together this wonderful event. Marie has always been a huge supporter and volunteered numerous times to help out the Boulder Cycling Club over the past years. I can personally attest that this is a great ride that is much more manageable then some of the longer and Steeper rides that go on up in Summit County. It's a great change of scenery and from the usual riding down here in Boulder County and the views are quite spectacular. For more information about free stuff, discounts and other updates go to http://www.bluerivercentury.com/

Erie Approves Outdoor VeloDrome

small logo(exceprt from the daily camera) Erie town leaders unanimously approved construction of a 250-meter outdoor velodrome Tuesday, paving the way for Colorado's third cycling arena. Only California has more, with four.

The Boulder Valley Velodrome, which is planned for a 4.2-acre site at the intersection of Bonnell Avenue and County Line Road, could open for business as soon as next spring.
The project owner expects the venue to attract cyclists - both professional and recreational - from across the Front Range. It will be open throughout the year, with winter riding dependent on the weather.

New Belguim Urban Assault Ride
hits Denver July 25th!

small logoThe Urban Assault Ride™ is a truly unique cycling event...and quickly becoming one of the biggest in country! Here's how it works: You and your teammate will set out on a city-wide quest for 'checkpoints' on your favorite two-wheeled steeds.  At each checkpoint, you'll drop your bikes and complete a funky/adventurous obstacle course, then remount your bikes and hit the streets for more.

The goal is to complete all the checkpoints in the shortest amount of time. You choose your own route and checkpoint order. This means that the most clever are often the victors. Of course, it may also help if you can pull a mean big-wheel powerslide and fly across an inflatable slip-n-slide ;)
