Friday, August 6

0700 - Depart Boulder Area (meeting place TBD)
1000 - Arrive at Florence, CO
1030 - Ride up 25 miles to Cold Spring, along Hardscrabble Route and turn around and return to Florence; unsupported ride - all rideup and back
1500 - Depart Florence, CO
1600 - Arrive at Mt Princeton, CO, campgrounds, and set-up camp (check-in time is 2 PM) http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgroundDetails.do?subTabIndex=0&&contractCode=nrso&parkCode=moup

Location Information:  Mt. Princeton Campground is partially wooded with Ponderosa pine, aspen and cedar trees. The campground has 17 sites. Sites 1-8 are creek side; sites 7 and 16 are narrow (11 feet wide); sites 6-8,10,11 and 14 are rocky. There is room in select site for trailers up to 38' and medium size RVs.  The Chalk Cliffs, Mt. Princeton and Mt. Antero (both14'ers) are located in or near this drainage. The historic town of St. Elmois located at the end of County Road 162. Other remnants of the mining economy lie within the valleys and mountains of the local terrain. The Alpine Tunnel is located on County Road 295, south of St. Elmo, and accessible by trail.  Fishing in Chalk Creek and Chalk Lake and various alpine lakes in the area are accessible by foot or four-wheel drive. Hiking trails in the area include the Agnes Vaille Falls Trail, Colorado Trail,Poplar Gulch Trail, Mt. Princeton Trail and Mt. Antero Trail. Several four-wheel drive roads area accessible from this drainage. They include Tincup Pass, Hancock Pass, Baldwin Gulch and Mt. Antero. I have 4 camp sites reserved - sites 3, 4, 6 and 7.   Max of eight people and 2 vehicles per site are allowed.  You have to pay a little more for extra vehicle
s. 

1700 -  Eat Dinner at campsite or in-town; go to Mt Princeton Hot Springs and show off our tan lines (no speedos); some less adventurous might also choose to stay at the Hot Springs resort at $200+/night which may require you to host 15 other people.




Saturday, August 7
Time TBD -  Eat Breakfast and drive or bike up the road, north on Hwy 24, to Turquoise Lake and around Leadville historic mine sites - 70 to 100 mile ride (plan on 7 to 9 hours) - use one vehicle for support and take turns driving -- allow us to do the 100-miler but actually only ride 70 or so miles.  It's essentially the Buena Vista -  century routes.
Time TBD    Eat Dinner and Hot Springs again

Sunday, August 8
Eat Breakfast / Break down camp by 12 p.m.. / On your own
Camping space is limited.

Rides This Week - July 8 - July 15

Weekday rides will stay at the 5:45 pm departure time for the month of July.







*Every Tuesday we meet at Boulder Beer
and depending on the weather determine the route often times going to Eldorado Canyon (approximately 20 + miles)

*Thursday rides we switch from Bacaro & Restaurant 4580 as meeting points. Since we had to officially cancel the ride last week at Restaurant 4580 due to high winds and stormy skies we will try it again this Thursday. Routes vary weekly, approximately 25 miles.

*Saturday morning rides are at Bicycle Village at 9:30 am. Please get there a little early so that the group can leave as close to 9:30 as possible. Routes vary weekly.

Please check the BCC calendar on the website to time and location of rides.

Always check the before you go and the Ride Cancellation Policy if the weather is questionable.  Please note that rides are cancelled if it is raining or lightening!
