Dear Boulder Cycling Club Members:
Evening Rides Start
This Tuesday
Accuweather.com is predicting a high of 60 degrees tomorrow
(Tuesday), so things look good for our first weeknight ride of the season. After the cloudiest winter in recent memory, it's time to take advantage of the warming
trend and daylight savings time.
Let's ride!
The Tuesday evening ride starts at Boulder Beer at 5:00
pm. Yes, we know that is too early for many
people, so in a few weeks, when the days are a little longer, we will be starting
at 5:30. For those who want to attend
their 7 pm party caucus this Tuesday, the B group ride will be back by 6:30.
Sincerely,
Donald C.

New Thursday Starting Point
Thursday the forecast is a high of 63 degrees! We'll meet at Bácaro Venetian Taverna on 921 Pearl St. at 5:00
pm. This is a new starting point we are
tying out. It has a great patio, good
happy hour prices, and the best small plates menu in town!
We are trying to avoid "driving to ride," and Bácaro is
centrally located for North and South Boulder
residents with good trail and bike route access. Since we normally ride until sunset and
socialize until after dark, you may be riding home in the dark. Bring your lights!
We realize that some people will have to drive due to time
considerations, so we have recommendations on parking. Park on the street free up near Mapleton or
Pine and 9th St.
and ride your bike down to Bácaro. That
way you get a little pre-ride check up on your bike. If you want to park closer, we suggest going
directly one of the parking garages, which cost the same as on-street
meters. You might score a parking place
on the street near Bácaro, but in the end, you will save time and aggravation
by just going directly to a garage instead of circling around looking for a
spot on the street. There are three garage
possibilities depending on where you're coming from. If you're coming from the north, use 11th & Spruce. If you're coming from the south, use 10th & Walnut (St Julien Hotel) or 11th & Walnut (Randolph Center).

Weekend Rides Changing to
Saturday
We know what it's like to go into work Monday morning
dead tired from a long Sunday ride. In
addition, Sunday is considered a day of rest and church going for many
members. As a result, we will be riding
on Saturday instead of Sunday this season.
Our first ride this Saturday will start from Amante Coffee at 4580
Broadway at noon. Afterward, we will
grab a bite at Proto's Pizzeria Napoletana, one block north of Amante. We will take a two-hour ride in the flatlands
north of Boulder. Times and locations will vary in the future,
so consult the website calendar and watch for notices in the newsletter
