Notes from the Prez:
That's right! As the rain continued to fall sporadically we managed to ride between the raindrops and have a good time enjoying the cool June air. It was hard to tell sometimes - even an hour before ride time - what the weather was going to do but we've been lucky. Usually by ride time the skies are clear and the pavement is dry! Lots of fun stuff to do on the bike coming up.
A word of caution: If you've been following the story of motorist/cyclist road rage this week up on Olde Stage be aware as the new Bike Safety Law goes into effect August 5th. For more information on the story and the new laws, visit ColoradoDaily.com. The Boulder Cycling Club promotes safety first and obeying the rules of the road. Be careful out there, get out and ride and most importantly have FUN!

GOOD NEWS FOR KELSEY CRIDER
|
|
Many of you know Steve as our "official" Margarita Ride leader. For those of you that have been following his daughter Kelsey's condition, we have good news! Kelsey has been approved for a transplant! She is scheduled for July 28th at Mayo's Rochester, MN facility. Her donor is woman who lives locally and read about Kelsey's story in the paper. Mayo has a highly sensitive test which looks for donor-specific antibodies, as well as a myriad of other things. Kelsey has zero antibodies against the donor, which will greatly help the transplant process. Mayo will do several more crossmatch tests over the next month to ensure that it remains negative. We are all very happy for Kelsey and so appreciative of her donor. Many thanks to all who have supported Kelsey, her family and Steve Crider along this journey.
