Issue: #1 Volume 9 March 2009
Note from the President...

Great news in the world of Cycling Advocacy:
Bill 148 passed the house this week!
A giant congratulations to our friends at Bicycle Colorado and everyone that worked so hard on getting this very important safety bill passed. Click here for more

More like out like a lion: Our weather has been so unpredictable it has cancelled our rides for the last week or so. Look for the rides to start back up next week! Go to the calendar to see April schedule

..and it looks like the weather is going downhill again this weekend--- never fear the American Diabetes Association is holding a Spinathon this Saturday at Bicycle Village. Scroll down for more!

The warm weather is coming so lets get our bikes dusted off and get back in the groove next week!

  MEETING NOTES...
Last weeks' meeting at REI was really interesting with Anne describing her 5 week solo cycling adventure through Central America. It was a great snapshot into the culture and people and very inspirational. Since her adventure she has committed to not driving her car for a year and donating the money she would have spent to fund Room to Read, a program that helps young girls that do not have access to books or proper educational programs with various reading programs and a variety of other educational oriented opportunities. Click here for more information.
WAY TO GO ANNE! We all came away truly inspired by your energy and enthusiasm!

Our other speaker was Scott Christopher of Bicycle Colorado. Exhibiting the same kind of passion and enthusiasm as Anne but focusing on the world of Cycling Advocacy Scott expland the efforts of Bicycle Colorado especially in regards to getting Bill 148 passed. Congrats to you and the gang at Bicycle Colorado for all your hard work. It's paying big dividends for all of us who like to cycle in Colorado.
