Issue: #28 September/October 2008
Happy Fall Folks!

The light is receding fast and to compensate the weekday rides will be meeting at 5:00 pm.  We have three rides this week:  Tonight at Boulder Beer, Thursday's Jamestown Ride from Amante North, and our usual Saturday excursion from Bicycle Village. Scroll down for details.

I also want to put the word out for volunteers for Assisted Cycling Tours Fall Bicycling Festival  on October 18th. They need volunteers for a variety of functions including bike riding (in short, 1/3 mile loops).  Assisted Cycling is a non-profit that offers bicycle trips for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities and their families. This event is great opportunity to pass on your excitement about cycling to others. Call Bob at (303) 945-6205 to get involved.

The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance is also looking for volunteers for the Last Trail Work Event of 2008 on October 4th!  Join the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Department and Boulder Mountainbike Alliance to build a new section of Springbrook Trail - good work in a spectacular setting!  Click here to register

Tuesday Social Road Bike Ride
  Boulder Brewery
Road Bike Ride at the Boulder Brewery. Join us for the BCC Meet at 5:00 PM, Leave at 5:15 PM Tuesday social road bike ride at the Boulder Brewery. This is an intermediate road bike ride at a 15-18 mph pace.  The pace is fast enough for exercise, but shouldn't make you keel over!  The objective is a good work out and to build camaraderie.  Approximate distance is 25-30 miles.  We'll return to the Boulder Brewery by 8:00 PM.
Thursday Jamestown Road Bike

  Amantes - North Boulder
Meet at Amantes North at 5:30 PM. Meet at 5:15. Join ride leaders on a hill climb to Jamestown.  We'll head up 36, turn on Lefthand Canyon road, and take the classic route to Jamestown.  It's probably the easiest mountain climb in the Boulder area and is suitable for all road bike riders especially intermediate road bike riders or folks new to road biking.   Pace will be 15mph to 18mph on the flats and quite a bit slower on the climb.  The BCC has a "no drop policy" meaning we will wait up for you so long as you are willing to complete the ride.
Saturday Morning Road Bike Ride
  Bicycle Village
Saturday 9:15 a.m.  Road Bike Ride Intermediate. Meet at Bicycle Village at 9:15 am.  20 to 40 miles with a stop for coffee.  Average speed 12 to 18 mph.
All the Rest...
