Issue: #27 September 2008
Hi Everybody,

I'm just fresh back from the cool chilly wet Northwest and ready to ride! I want to say a big Thank You to Chuck Ayers of the Cascade Bike Club in Seattle for showing me around their offices and making time to meet with me and share all the great work they are doing out there in Seattle in the realms of Cycling education, advocacy and commuting. That's not to mentioned the 1200 plus organized rides they sponsor each year including the Seattle to Portland ride that attracts 10,000 cyclists! All I can say is WOW was I impressed and inspired!

Exciting news Eli and Marcus have got the new website up and running!!!! Thanks for all your hard work guys! Go to www.bouldercyclingclub.com to check it out! If you know anyone that would like to join us as a sponsor of the site please have them contact us at [email protected]

Back here in sunny warm Boulder we have 2 rides on the track for tonight and of course the Saturday ride with our friends at Bicycle Village.

Margarita ride is on with Steve leading and meeting at Serrano's at 5:15 with a departure time of no later then 5:30. This is a mountain/ hybrid ride around the Gunbarrel area.

Road Bike ride meeting at Amante's at 5:15 and leaving no later then 5:30. Either a jaunt up to Jamestown or a spin in the flats doing a Hygiene oriented loop. App. 20 to 25 miles. Donald will lead.

Remember our daylight is shorter so we need to leave early to insure getting back at a reasonable / safe time.

Sat ride at Bicycle Village meets at 9:15 am and leaves at 9:30. Route varies weekly app. 25 to mile miles with a rest break in between for coffee or ice cream.

We got the final results in for the Tour de Cure Charity ride from Todd. Great work to Todd and everyone involved in the BCC /Tour de Cure Team in raising money for the American Diabetes Association

We projected 1500 riders and $500,000 in fund raising.

We had over 1900 riders and raised over $640,000!

Last year we were the #4 Tour in the nation.
Now, we are #3!

Our Team raised a total of $6,474.99
(which smartass donated $.99?)

That is pretty impressive for a first year team.

Our top 3 Team fund raisers are:

Randy Rogers - $1,244.99
and
Lisa Case and Susan Gingrich - $700 each

Finally, a reminder that we will be setting up a table at the upcoming Veloswap in October and can use volunteers to help work the booth for an hour or two throughout the day. Email me below if you are interested.

Thanks and I'll see you out there on the BIKE!
