Rev. Tyler.closeupTHE END BRINGS ABOUT NEW BEGINNINGS

Dear Wayman Nation,

It's that time of the year again-the end of the Conference Year.  Time to look back and think about all that we accomplished, all that we still want to do, and how God has blessed us to see another day.  We have so much to be thankful for, for God has truly "shown up and shown out" at the Wayman Nation.

This year, we continued our community outreach by giving food to the needy all year long; hosted three bishops to bring their message to Wayman; and buried family members and welcomed new lives into the world. We had our Annual Days and Weekends (Usher Board, Youth, Lay, Choir, Senior Saints, Women's Weekend and Men's Weekend), and we started a new website through our Communications and Public Relations Ministry.  We were so proud to be the host church of the 2008 General Conference, held right here in St. Louis.  Through our hard work and welcoming spirit, we certainly put the Wayman Nation on the map!  We now welcome a new Bishop and Episcopal Supervisor, Bishop and Mrs. T. Larry Kirkland

Church on Cabanne"There is nothing half so pleasant as coming home again."
  --Margaret Elizabeth Sangster

The General Conference of 2008 is now history, but will not be forgotten for years to come. The Fifth Episcopal District now has new leadership-Presiding Prelate T. Larry Kirkland and Episcopal Supervisor Mary L. Kirkland.  Bishop and Mrs. Kirkland are no strangers to the Fifth Episcopal District. Bishop Kirkland was the former pastor and founder of Brookins Community Church in Los Angeles, California, a mission church that he built into a mega church. Mrs. Kirkland led the development of the Women's Missionary Society from a membership of zero to hundreds of members serving the community, nation and world. Through Bishop Kirkland's time in the District, he served with and met many people who he was able to call on over the year s to assist him and even help bring him back to the Fifth

Mrs. Kendall Mrs. Samantha Marcella Toole Kendall-
A Gift that Keeps on Giving

By Hope E. Whitehead, Esq.

Mrs. Samantha Marcella Toole Kendall (aka "Mrs. Kendall") is someone who sees the world not only as it is but recognizes what it can be.  Mrs. Kendall is one of those people who truly feel that if you plant a seed, a flower will grow. Throughout her entire life both professionally and personally, Mrs. Kendall has been devoted to helping people to be better than they envisioned they can be.   It is truly a gift.

Inspiring young minds is what Mrs. Kendall does well. Professionally, Mrs. Kendall was a trainer. She learned her training skills from the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) - the world's largest association dedicated to workplace training and performance professionals.   Mrs. Kendall was the Director of Training and Community Development with the Human Development Corporation where she conducted training for new employees for almost twenty years.  Later, she became a recruiter for Job Corp where she would inspire hundreds of our children to take charge and control over their destiny by getting the tools necessary to be successful in the workforce.
