Dear Wayman Nation Family,
The holy season culminates this week with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Resurrection Sunday. During this week, we remember the last supper of Jesus and His disciples, the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross, and, more importantly, the resurrection on the third day when He got up from the tomb. Glory be to God!
This Easter, we celebrate these facts: only One stepped from the tomb. Only One has risen from the dead. Only One has conquered death. Only One offers the promise of eternal life to those who follow Him. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life," Jesus said. "He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." MORE |

MARCH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH!
JARENA LEE (b. 1783)

Approved to preach by Bishop Richard Allen following her pious exhortation during a visiting minister's sermon, she spent many years walking the entire country, preaching the gospel. She had her autobiography printed in 1836 and an updated version printed in 1849; following the events recorded in the second edition nothing is known of her life. MORE |
