Alabama's marine science education and research laboratory, Dauphin Island Sea Lab serves Alabama's four-year colleges and universities, and  works with numerous K-12 initiatives.


Alabama Public Television has reset On The Job to show at 12:30 p.m. each Sunday on your local APT channel.

AIDT-Extra logo
Alabama businesses now have access to services designed to identify qualified job seekers to fill jobs and to stabilize and expand current employee skills through AIDT Extra.
 
AIDT assists new and expanding industries fill jobs in Alabama through recruitment of job seekers, pre-employment training of qualified trainees and on-the-job training of new employees.
 
AIDT Extra provides assistance, accessories and advice to help businesses recruit, assess, train and enhance the workforce needed for today's changing market.
 
How is AIDT Extra different from existing AIDT services? AIDT Extra is tailored toward businesses not currently qualified for existing AIDT services.
 
AIDT Extra services include development of:
  • Employee Recruiting Ads
  • Train the Trainer Manual
  • Principles of Daily Success
  • Comprehensive and Illustrated Trainee Manuals and Workbooks
  • Multimedia Instructor Guides and Training Aids
  • Videographic Company Information: policies, production processes, step-by-step procedures and operational instructions.
 
Manuals and instructor guides provide a range of skill-building topics, such as basic math, safety, precision measurement, quality control, team building, and other topics requested by each company. Manuals also include company-specific information such as production process details, standard operating instructions, or step-by-step machine operation instructions. Training materials provide information trainees and employees need for comprehension and performance.
 
AIDT Extra and other services are designed to help Alabama businesses and employees succeed and grow. Additional workforce development services are also available with Alabama community and technical colleges and Alabama Technology Network.

AIDT provides a proactive approach to continuously improve your company process. Our Process Improvement Assessment is based on lean principles and utilizes improvement techniques.

Process Improvement Assessment provides an independent third-party review of your company's business processes as it relates to lean manufacturing. 

AIDT services include:

  • Offering suggestions for improvement
  • Offering AIDT services
  • Recommending local Alabama resources that may assist in overcoming identified weaknesses
