prepares high school and postsecondary students for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations. Giving students a head start in reaching their career goals, the annual conference allows students to compete, as well as showcase their occupational and leadership skills.

Watch On The Job Sunday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. on your local APT channel to learn more about SkillsUSA, a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives, working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. It helps each student excel.

On The Job shows set for Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 have been replaced with The War featuring U.S. veteran services. After the next On The Job  feature on Nov. 23, Alabama Public Television will host the annual Pledge Drive to help pay for its  programming, including On The Job. Without these fund-raising drives each year, APT cannot provide quality programming. AIDT encourages you to consider a donation to Alabama Public Television. Visiting the website at www.aptv.org.

Many job seekers are unprepared for job interviews.

Ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you have the job you want?
  • Are you confident you'll do well interviewing?
  • Do you know the three parts of an interview?
If you answer "NO" to any of these questions, AIDT has a class for you!

AIDT provides Interview T.I.P.S. (Training to Improve Presentation Skills) to solve these and other problems cited by Alabama business leaders and AIDT project managers who interview job seekers.
