'Crash' into auto repair careers with On The Job
|
On The Job Host Bobby Jon Drinkard, (left), assists Barry Hulgan (right) cutting frame for vehicle repair at Watkins Auto Body shop in Birmingham.
On The Job "crashed" into automobile repair sites to learn more about careers involved in the automobile collision repair industry. Team members got "hands on" information at Watkins Auto Body in Birmingham to learn the type of skills needed to succeed in this field. On the Job then hit the road to spend time with a perennial outdoor advertising company in the southeast, Durden Outdoor in Dothan. The team learned that with determination and hard work, dreams can become a reality in the outdoor advertising business.
To learn secrets of success, watch On The Job Sunday, August 3, at 2:30 p.m. on your local Alabama Public Television channel.

area for a new facility or function. Each location exhibits nuances in
terms of specific skill availability, wage levels, labor management
relations, and productivity; but historically, most states and metro
areas have been able to provide the raw number of workers to meet
companies' needs. ...
Get Great Workers - Green Your Building
|
By creating sustainable work environments, companies can position themselves to attract and keep high-caliber talent.
Ten years ago, climate change, sick building syndrome, and social and environmental responsibility weren't commonplace subjects. Now these topics are prevalent in the daily news, taught in schools, and discussed at the water cooler. Simply put, people are paying more attention to how they live and where they work. The qualities of a green facility resonate with many prospective employees on personal and ethical levels, and they are particularly meaningful to the informed, conscientious members of the highly skilled work force. ...
