Greetings!

In this season of giving thanks, I'd like to take a few minutes on behalf of Sparky's Pals  to thank all of our volunteers and donors for all their support over the past year.

Every one of our presentations requires speakers who can share information and their experience with varied audiences, from pre-schoolers to adults. Since we are an education organization, we live to do presentations!

Every one of our fund-raising events requires dedicated volunteers who give their time to help raise the money that allows us to continue our workshops. Without them, we wouldn't be able to continue.

Speaking of fund raising, our last major fund-raiser of the year - holiday gift wrapping - is coming up in December. Please visit the website for details.

Everyone at Sparky's Pals sends our best holiday wishes to you and yours!

Our Speakers

Carol and Doogie
A key requirement of the Girl Scouts' Interest Project workshop is interviewing someone in the pet care profession. We've been very lucky to have a top-notch group of veterinarians and animal trainers who give their time to help Girl Scouts learn about their jobs.

Our Santa

Checking for Leaks  Patricia Gulino has graciously appeared as Santa in our Holiday Photography fund-raisers with East Lake Pet Orphanage for the past two years. She's suffered through a number of indignities (please visit our blooper reel), and is still willing to volunteer. Thanks, Santa!

This year, we also would like to thank Tom and Kay Stimson for the use of their saddles in the Cowboy Santa display. Santa without saddles? Unthinkable. Our thanks to the Stimson family!

Kisses
Our Scouts

We'd like to thank all the Girl Scout volunteers and their leaders who have staffed our events this year, helping children with crafts, reading books and handing our brochures.

We'd also like to offer a special "Thank You" to Britta and her Mom Kirsten who have been at almost every public event we've held this year. They are probably our most dedicated volunteers. We're looking forward to helping Britta earn her Silver award next year.
Our Volunteers

We can't do what we do without our volunteers. Sparky's Pals doesn't have staff - we have you! To everyone who has wrapped gifts, made crafts, read books or helped pets pose, thank you!

I would also like to thank the members of the Board of Directors who provide their guidance throughout the year.

Sparky's Pals would not exist without your support!
Our Donors

We are dependent on the public for financial support, and our donors have generously responded to meet our needs. Thank you to all our donors for their contributions!

We'd also like to thank those who made donations to the Rose Pesce Memorial Fund which was established in memory of Virginia and Trish's Mom who passed away this summer.

A Friend in Need

Casper with Santa Sparky's Pals doesn't have animals for adoption, but we meet many pets in need along the way.

Every once in a while, we meet one we would really like to help.

This is Casper, who is currently at East Lake Pet Orphanage (ELPO), waiting for his forever home. He's been waiting since February which makes him the longest current resident at ELPO. We met him during the Holiday Photography fund-raiser last weekend.

Casper is playful and fun and he adores kids and other dogs. He would prefer a kitty-free household. His one issue? He's quite an accomplished high jumper! One adoptive family didn't believe this when warned, and after he jumped their six-foot fence, he was returned to ELPO. So, Casper's forever home will have someone who can keep him on a leash when being walked, since a fence may not be enough. Is that really that much of a burden?

We're hoping Casper will have a happy holiday with his new family.

Got Thanks? (Care to share?)

We all (hopefully) have something for which to give thanks this year. Could you share some of your bounty with us? As we approach the holiday season, Sparky's Pals also approaches the time of year our bank account reaches "low tide." Could you help us get through the holiday season and prepare for next year?

Your $25.00 donation will help us print our handouts and literature for our holiday events. While wrapping gifts, we'd like to teach people about some of the holiday perils for pets.

Make a Donation

Sparky's Pals hopes all of you have a healthy, happy and bountiful holiday season.

Sincerely,
