Happy Holidays from Sparky's Pals!
Greetings!

Sparky's Pals would like to wish you and yours every happiness during this Holiday Season and prosperity in the New Year. We'd also like to thank all of our donors and volunteers for all of their support this year  - we couldn't do it without you!

Reading at Mi EscuelitaSparky's Pals is rather unique in the animal rescue community in that we only provide humane education - our focus is on helping children prepare to be humane pet owners, helping families consider rescue over purchase when welcoming a pet to the family, helping people understand why spay/neuter is critical for the health of their pets (and to reduce pet over-population) and for the smaller children, helping them learn how to behave around animals to help prevent bites. We are not a shelter, we don't rescue animals and we don't have animals available for adoption. Our goal is to stop the creation of homeless animals!

Barktoberfest Crafts
Sparky's Pals volunteers visited with over two thousand children and adults in 2007 - from the pre-schoolers at Mi Escuelita to grade school and high school students in the Dallas Independent School District to Girl Scouts of all ages. We also did presentations at the Dallas Public Library, Barnes & Noble's Storytimes and other animal rescue-sponsored events. We look forward to continuing and expanding our humane education programs with your support into 2008 and beyond.

My favorite memory from this year was returning to one of the Mi Escuelita Preschools in November after having visited in April, and having the children remember (and recite) how to "be a tree" when confronted with a stray animal. This shows that our programs can make a difference - which makes all of our work worthwhile.

Barktoberfest CraftsIn this season of giving, would you consider making a year-end donation to help support our humane education programs? In 2008, we have two goals: to continue creating as many bite-free children as possible through education and to fund the Maxinations program to provide low-cost pet vaccinations. Your donations (either monetary or in-kind) would help greatly.

All our best to you and your family,
