A Very Worthy Weekend!

If you've never seen JR Johns perform with his band of 23 rescued dogs, then you simply MUST come out to Jennifer Webb's annual "Applause for Paws" event tomorrow night (Friday, August 13), 6-9pm at the Circus Circus Hotel in downtown Reno. If you're a dog lover (like so many of us!), you'll be rolling in the aisles with laughter and wiping the tears away from your eyes at this incredible performance---seen nationally on "America's Got Talent" and all the late night and early morning shows. The evening will also include an incredible array of silent auction items (I always do my major Christmas shopping at this event, since there are so many unique and extravagant items). Jennifer says that this year is the "best silent auction offerings" she's ever had---including Southwest Airlines "Tickets to Anywhere", a Cabo San Lucas getaway, Patagonia clothing, custom catering, oodles of tickets to wonderful cultural events (like the Americana Festival, the Nevada Opera, the Reno Philharmonic) and many other wonderful things.

Applause for Paws is a fundraiser for Jennifer's wonderfully worthy organization, the "Shakespeare Animal Fund" (named after one of her beloved dogs, Shakespeare). Please come out and support this worthy cause! Your admission includes complimentary champagne, mountains of delicious hors d' ouvres, a chocolate fountain, magicians, live music and, of course, JR and his wonderful pooches. As many of us know (because we've been to her house for her New Years' jam or other great jam sessions), Jennifer really knows how to throw a party.
