And Yes, In Case You Hadn't Heard.... The Americana Festival was an Overwhelming Success!
Friendly drivers (like Gary!) took people up and down C Street to all of the venues | We are so grateful to all of you who turned out for this unique and new kind of festival. The participating businesses in Virginia City reported that HUNDREDS of you visited their shops, restaurants, bars and historic sites. THANK YOU!! At all five of our performance venues, you filled the seats. THANK YOU!!
The First Presbyterian Church alone estimated that 450-500 people attended the shows in their beautiful sanctuary. THANK YOU!! Bluegrass in Church! | All in all, there were over 35 different events at this year's Americana Festival---22 performances, 6 workshops, 3 dances, 6 guided jams and countless impromptu jam sessions. Attendance was beyond our wildest dreams, and the compliments and kudos we heard about all the performers and all the workshop and jam leaders could fill a book! We can't thank you all enough!
We're working on getting the photos posted on the website---and we would LOVE to include any photos that you have!
Surprise visit from up-and-coming Nashville star, Silvara Shea | Also, please help us make this festival even better by completing our Survey (located here). It's completely anonymous and you can give us as much advice as you'd like---we can take it! We know we have room for improvement, and we're already planning next year's festival (July 8-10, 2011). By taking our Survey, you will help us with the documentation we need to qualify for grant money. Without grant money (and the wonderful contributions we receive from supporters), we couldn't keep this as a free festival. So please take a moment to fill out the survey, located here, so we can continue to put on this unique, FREE festival!Friday night show at Piper's Opera House featured San Francisco's Saddle Cats And lots of Texas Two-Stepping on the dance floor!
