The Sacramento Running Association's newest event, the Super Bowl Sunday Run 10K, was held on February 7, and all who participated went on to their Super Bowl Sunday festivities guilt free! Football-themed highlights included:
Tailgating parties in the parking lot of the Alex G. Spanos Stadium at California State University Sacramento.
Dramatic pre-race rhythm from the Natoma High School Drum Corps.
A football referee starting the race with a blast on his whistle.
Cheerleaders along the course
Football jersey- style event t-shirts
Hot dogs, pizza, nachos and beer at the finish!

Opening of Marathon & Relay Online Registration Changed to March 15, 2010.

The Sacramento Running Association Board and Staff are in the process of setting up the best system for efficient and runner-friendly online registration. This system is expected to be in place on March 15, so please visit runcim.org at that time to register.

Marathon & Relay Entry Limits and Deadline

The CIM's priority is to provide the best possible experience for our entrants. So although the CIM entries have filled ahead of schedule the last few years, event management has opted for quality over quantity, and there are very minor changes in entry limits for 2010.

Marathon Entry Limit: 7,500 (500 more than 2009)
Marathon Relay Challenge Entry Limit: 1,000 (same as 2009).
November 1 entry deadline (unless the events fill before this date)

THIS MEANS... ENTER EARLY!

Pay the lowest entry fee.
Better plan your training and marathon weekend logistics.
Both the Relay and the Marathon entry caps were achieved last year before November 1.

Mark your calendars and get your 5-person team and costumes together for this wacky, centipede style, 1-mile race through Old Town Folsom, held in conjunction with the Folsom Pro Rodeo Kick Off festivities.

This message has been brought to you by the Sacramento Running Association (SRA), organizers of the California International Marathon, the Marathon Relay Challenge, the Kaiser Permanente 2.62-Mile maraFUNrun, the Lake Natoma Four Bridges Half Marathon & Relay, the Super Bowl Sunday 10K, and the Running of the Bullipedes. SRA is a not-for profit 501(c)(3) organization. Its proceeds benefit youth fitness programs, the American River Parkway, running venue improvement and development.
