JANUARY 20 from 12noon through 3pm.

Artist Jennifer Russell will embellish the Belmont Library System on our showroom floor - demonstrating hand-painted styles and taking your questions.

A Masters of Fine Art graduate of the University of Illinois, Jennifer first learned about Habersham when she spotted a help wanted magazine ad from the company featuring the headline, "Do it for the love. Do it for the Monet." She traveled to the company's North Georgia headquarters, got the job and began working on the meticulous designs and styles that are Habersham's hallmarks.

In addition to painting Habersham's own signature art styles, Jennifer works with clients who request slight alterations to color combinations and design motifs or have their own their own patterns or designs in mind. Today, Jennifer holds the position of final inspector, where she thoroughly goes over each piece to make sure it meets every client specification and all of Habersham's exacting construction, molding, trim, hardware and finish standards.

Taracea redefines an Old World artisan heritage

Taracea

[tah-rah-thay'-ah]

noun

1. Marquetry, checkered work, inlaid work. (f)

For over twenty years Taracea, a Mexican based manufacturer of high-end case goods, has been making hand-carved and handmade-to-order furniture in mahogany, teak, cedar and cypress including beautiful marquetery with ancient historical roots.

Taracea was founded by Javier Suarez in Mexico to recreate the traditional furniture found in the castles and noble houses of Castile and Andalusia in Central and Southern Spain. Every piece is handcrafted from reclaimed and plantation grown woods that are personally selected by Mr. Suarez so the appropriate lumber is cut for the special character required by each design. The final design of the piece is determined by the wood.

The Paola dining table reflects the ultimate of what "Taracea" stands for: the art of joining different woods in a geometric design. Each piece is built from the frame up by single craftsman reflecting their own personal style and expertise. The marquetry inlays are over 1/4" thick (not veneers) and are cut and inlaid by hand.

In addition to its exquisite furniture, Taracea Custom specializes in the design and manufacturing of custom architectural details including all types of doors, cabinetry, vanities, ceilings, wall units and custom furniture.
