iaedp Designates Christine Hartline, MA an Honorary Fellow of iaedp (F.iaedp) and Creates the Christine Hartline Symposium Scholarship
 | Christine Hartline |
PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM CAROLYN COSTIN: "I knew Christine Hartline since she was 15 years old and battling anorexia nervosa. I helped her through her illness to full recovery. Christine's recovery from an eating disorder lead her to eventually become a renown eating disorder advocate through the creation of www.edreferral.com. She was always a warrior for a good cause. More than a decade after her own recovery Christine helped open Monte Nido. A dream we both shared during her own treatment. Christine was always looking for ways to improve access to treatment and after meeting and falling in love with her husband Kevin Grold, together they went on to create Edreferral. In the last few days of her life, Christine shared with me that she was afraid she hadn't done enough. I assured her that her contribution to the eating disorder field was of great significance and importance and would carry on, continuing to help people long after she was gone. She also wanted me to thank iaedp for being early supporters of Edreferral and giving her the confidence to carry out her mission. As a board member of iaedp, I was able to pass on Christine's sentiment at the the recent iaedp conference. In response, the iaedp board voted to make Christine an honorary fellow of iaedp and establish an annual Christine Hartline conference scholarship. Each year the board will select someone who will be able to attend the conference in her name. Christine touched the lives of many and countless requests are coming in asking what can be done to support her legacy." Christine passed away on March 23, 2012, at age 42 after a five year battle with cancer. Her bright light and courage is an inspiration to all of us who knew her. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Her husband, Kevin, will continue her work at EDreferral.com.

As a provider who agrees to participate in this Forum, you have demonstrated your commitment to:
- Best practices in communicating with insurance plans.
- Aggressively pursuing the submission of claims and appeals.
