| Attention New to Medicare Members. | |
If you are turning age 65 and have received your Medicare card, you are in your initial enrollment period if your birthday month is April, May or June of 2010. This initial enrollment period starts 3 months before your 65th birthday month and will end 3 months after your 65th birthday month. During this period, you can enroll in Medicare Part D prescription drug plan (with Medicare Part A only) or if you have elected to enroll in the Medicare Part B, you can then select a Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan if you choose.

| Why use a National Ethics Bureau member? |
In this time of scams, fraud, theft and deception one needs to know who they are really doing business with in the areas of insurance, financial planning and real estate. This is where the National Ethics Bureau is important. To become a member, one must go through an extensive screening process including criminal background checks, complains with their respective state and federal agencies and any lawsuites and other civil actions. Only then can they be a member of the National Ethics Bureau. Look for professionals who have this emblem.

| Long-term care |

No one wants to think about it until it happens. But we all know that at some point in time there will be a family member or friend who ends up in need of some sort of home health care, assisted living or a full nursing home requirement.
We through the advances in medicine have increased our life span and in many cases have also increased the quality of life. We are living longer than our great grandparents.
The cost of care today for a stay of one month in a nursing home is reaching $7,000/month. This is just for the nursing care, room and board. It does not cover any prescriptions, medical services beyond what is provided by the nursing home.
The question becomes one of how can we afford long-term care when it is needed?
The answer is to investigate your Long-term care options. We can assist you in this by taking a look at your needs and how best to provide you with a product you can have which will lessen the cost of this care when needed. Simply send me an email or call me for a consultation. You can email me for long-term care information and an appointment here or call me 317.570.1271 or 866.203.5097.

Mrs. Stewart and I traveled down to St. Mary's, GA and while visiting, I joined their Chamber of Commerce and visited their Kiwanis Club. Being licensed in both Georgia and Florida make3s this location a great area to run my southern insurance business. We are in the process of investigating building a home near that community on a lot we own.
Here is a little tidbit, the last battle of the War of 1812 was not fought at New Orleans but at St. Mary's. |

Where is your living will and health care power of attorney?
| |
Having a Living Will and Health Care Power of Attorney is a very good idea. Having it located in a safe place is also good. But not having access to it in a time of need is very unfortunate. We are a very mobile society and being mobile we run the risk of having an illness or injury away from home. What do you do if you are involved in an auto accident and comatose? Will anyone have the information and these documents handy to know what you wish? Probably not. To prevent this from happening, how about keeping a copy in the glove box of your car, when traveling take a copy with you and have a card in your wallet with information on it and where a copy can be found. That way you have peace of mind in knowing that your instructions will be carried out.
