Tapping Tips
You Don't Have To Say A Word! It is true! While our choice of words as we tap can and many times does have a profound impact on results, sometimes silence is absolutely perfect. Yes, that is coming from me, who has always emphasized the importance of words and "EFT Language". This amazing tool we have at our disposal can be beneficial without saying a word, and many times "Silence is Golden". So when might that be? Obviously when we are overcome with emotion and words are impossible, because we are flooded with the emotion, tapping through the sequence repeatedly can restore a calmer state. But consider the possibility that at those times when you find your mind flooded with too many thoughts and can't seem to find clarity or peace of mind, that silently using this technique may help you return to your center and feel more grounded. If we allow ourselves to take a few steps back, breathe deeply and tap gently and silently when we feel this way, it can be quite beneficial. Consider giving yourself a few minutes to relax or meditate and as you sit quietly, gently tap on the karate chop and finger points. There is no need to go through the entire sequence. And, if you are aware of your "personal point", use it all by itself or throw it into the mix as well. Experiment a little bit to see what seems to work best for you. Can't bring yourself to tap at all? That's okay too! Imagine the points in your mind as you sit relaxed. Remember that your intention remains the most important part of this. How about those times when you are so frustrated about working through an issue that you are completely stumped when it comes to what words to use? Or what about those times you find yourself so overcome with emotion because you can't find the "right words". Never mind finding the "right words". Give yourself a break, close your eyes and just tap. You may be pleasantly surprised by what comes to mind... And what if your "justified" resistance to tapping is because you can't find the words, don't have enough time... Or what if you are terrified you will get in over your head or simply feel you are already in over your head? These are just a few of the circumstances where silent tapping is more than okay, and is probably the best answer. I welcome your questions and would love to hear about your results.
