We appreciate all the feedback we got from our first newsletter last month. There is lots going on in the pottery and gallery this spring, so here are a few updates on what's new.
Please send this on to a friend for us! It won't sign them up for additional letters unless they subscribe.

| Back from the shows... |
Betsy & Ann just got back from the Buyers Market of American Craft in Philadelphia, and also the American Craft Council show in Baltimore. We met up with Morgan, Betsy's daughter. She is the one that keeps us on track and budget at the shows!!
Above is a shot of the show floor in Philly, amazing! 1500 artists from all over the US and Canada. Below is Rollin and Patti Karg from Kechi, KS, ( Karg Art Glass) with one of his large glass sculptures. That's Ann on the right. She and Michele get to trade off coming to the show each year to meet the artists and help look for new work.
What a great way to get recharged for year with all these talented artists! |
| Great pots from Tony Heslop |
For those of you that collect pottery by Tony Heslop from Colorado, you will find all new work. Tom just got back from a quick turnaround trip from Colorado with a jeep full of Tony's pots. Come and see! For those not in the Minnesota area, you can see a sampling of his work on our website at claycoyote.com.

| New sculpture in the gallery |
We have one of their sculptures in our house, so we decided it's time to get some of their work for the gallery. We found them at the Baltimore show, and the expressions and emotions they bring out in their people are amazing. Michael and Shelley Buonaiuto make characters that have a story, and once you see them, you will want to find a place in your home for these little people. |
| New hot glass in the gallery |
We found David Goldhagen at the Philly show this year, and this will give you an idea of some of the work we are bringing in of his. He uses a painterly approach to his art glass which marries bold colors to brilliant, clear crystal in a clean modern style.

| Spring Open House
April 25-26-27 |
 |
Please note the date change, above, from the spring sale postcard. We had to move it out one week.
We are sure that spring will finally come, even as I look at a new blanket of snow today. We're gearing up for our annual spring open house, so it better be nice weather!
We will have lots of new coyote pots, plus many new artists in the gallery this spring, (we will highlight a new artist each month in this newsletter), so you won't want to miss this one. We are doing a little remodeling in the gallery also to show the work even better too.
Our visiting artists for the weekend will include two new folks.
Patti Berg, from Embarrass, MN will bring her selection of really cool hats and garments, and Don Cherney from Clayton WI will bring his cast pewter jewelry. Also returning will be Don's wife, Sharon Cherney with her leather bags and purses. Goldsmith Patty Conlin will be here and also Tom Soucek, from Hutchinson with his watercolors.
There will be yummy treats and refreshments.

| Chicken Bakers |
|
If you don't have one of these yet, it's time. We started making these at Clay Coyote Pottery back in 1997 after reading an article in Cook's Illustrated magazine. And we have not stopped since. These make the best chicken you will ever have!

| Website revamp coming soon |
|
Where we are making it even easier for you to find the pieces you are looking for along with separating out the work of the current artists we have here in our Minnesota gallery so you can find them easier as well.
Many thanks to Vivid Image for all their work, especially LuAnn, Steven and Deanna. Grazie!!!
We'll let you know when we are up and running, but until then you can still use our current site. |
| Mug votes are in! |
We tallied all the votes for the new mugs and #7 (the "artsy" one) won hands down. The #3 (traditional) and #4 (straight) were next with #6 (Bistro) close behind. We will have pictures of them on the website as soon as I get them glazed!
