20 lbs and Down and Counting
This is the story of Julie. Currently, a stay-at-home-mom, Julie S.
is a busy lady who hasn't put herself first for a long time. This
beautiful young women may have gained a few pounds over the years, but
recently made a decision to reduce her total body fat to a healthier
level, and get back to the body she remembers, lighter, leaner,
stronger. She joined AKC Fitness Long Island
three short months ago. In the past she worked with trainers who always
seemed to have their personal agenda, pushing Julie into
isolation-style resistance training that did little more than aggravate
old injuries. Needless to say, results didn't come and her initial
experiences with exercise were not all positive.

Blood, Sweat, and Kettlebells, a User's Guide
I love what kettlebell lifting has done for me and everyone I've given
it to, but it's not a shortcut. The people who get results are
the ones who do the work. It's that
simple. No work, no results. The technique, the Fedorenko Method of kettlebell lifting, is
the vehicle, but doing the work is the key to sustained progress. Americans are not used to training injury free. It's commonplace for the
usual shoulder, knee, back strains to slow most people way down. Not
so with the Fedorenko Method. If working
intelligently, you can show up day in, day out, and train intensely,
but safely, never having to back away from progress because of a pinched
nerve. Valery calls it, "not getting greedy", or being "professional".
After almost four years of training under his tutelage, I can attest to
this fact. Those who stay professional and don't get greedy, can work
at ever increasing intensity levels, getting the best results possible.
