Eastbay Youth All-American game


As a natural extension of the U.S. Army Bowl, the Eastbay Youth All-American game takes place January 9, 2011 at the AlamodomEastbay Youth All American Gamee in San Antonio, Texas. Last year's Football University Youth All-American Games, featured the nation's top 7th and 8th grade All-Americans, representing 45 different states and Canada. Participants came from various national organizations (PAL, AYF, Pop Warner, and AAU) and many independent leagues.

Kids Can Become Dehydrated in Cold Weather, Too

Cold weather alters thirst sensation     mom's team


It may be hard to believe, but while you are on the sidelines or sitting in the stands bundled in a sweater on a  late fall day watching your child running up and down the soccer field or playing football, he may be becoming dehydrated. Indeed, a recent study showed that  cold weather actually alters the thirst sensation.  When athletes don't feel as thirsty, they don't drink as much fluids, and this can cause dehydration.

Youth Football Coach of Year

Coaches, please update us on how your season went if you used our system. This year we will be awarding our Coach of the Year, Program of the Year and Worst to First Coach of the Year Awards. This is the third year we've done these awards.

Coach of the Year- Awarded to the coach who has shown the mostWYF COY consistent excellence throughout the season from a wins and losses perspective.

Program of the Year- Awarded to the youth football program who best exemplifies the "Winning Youth Football" philosophy of having consistently competitive teams across the organization, but also have high retention rates and a reputation for sportsmanlike play.

Worst to First Award- Awarded each year to the coach whose team exhibited the most dramatic turnaround this season. This is the award that is of most interest to me, we had 168 entries last season.

Please take the time to share your stories. Please include your name, your team name, age group and record.

Just send an e-mail at coachdave@winningyouthfootball.com with the details of your story. Entries must be in by December 10th 2010. We will make our award announcement on January 2nd. Award winners will receive an impressive trophy and will be presented at local clinics or mailed to you.
