Heads Up Online Training Course YFBCA has been a strong promoter of educating coaches on the symptoms and treatment of concussions. YFBCA encourages all their coaches to take a few minutes to complete the CDC's newly updated Head's Up Concussion program.
Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports is a free, online
course available to coaches, parents, and others helping to keep
athletes safe from concussion. It features interviews with leading
experts, dynamic graphics and interactive exercises, and compelling
storytelling to help you recognize a concussion and know how to respond
if you think that your athlete might have a concussion.

Replace electrolytes with sports drinks, salty snacks, fruits and vegetables
The loss of electrolytes such as sodium and potassium through sweat can lead to muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting and even death.
Electrolytes are minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and
chloride) which send messages to nerves and muscles throughout the
body, and are involved with muscle contraction and relaxation during
exercise, so that an imbalance can impact the actual contraction of the
muscle itself.
Sports drinks contain sodium and potassium in various amounts to prevent
cramping.

Eastbay Youth All-American game
As
a natural extension of the U.S. Army Bowl, the Eastbay Youth All-American game
takes place January 9, 2011
at the Alamodom e in San Antonio,
Texas. Last year's Football
University Youth All-American Games, featured the nation's top 7th
and 8th grade All-Americans, representing 45 different states and Canada.
Participants came from various national organizations (PAL, AYF, Pop Warner,
and AAU) and many independent leagues.
