Positive Youth Sports Model used to develop young athletes.
|
|
The Positive Youth Sports Model is an action-based model for
promoting positive youth development through sports. The Positive Youth Sports Model is built
around 'coaches, parents, program directors, and board members promoting positive
youth development by teaching, enforcing, affirming, and modeling positive life
skills for every athlete.'
The Positive Youth Sports Model calls upon coaches, parents,
program directors, and board members to help youth develop positive life
skills.
Integrity, leadership, self-discipline, teamwork, and other necessary
life skills are developed through playing youth football and other team sports. Youth sports, especially youth football, can
be one of the most influential factors on positive youth development. But, it must start with the principles of
coaches, parents, and directors promoting the positive development of their
youth.
YFBCA's goal is to instill these principles in our coaches
in order to support and maintain the positive development of their youth
football players.
