Many leagues are now requiring their coaches to complete a formal education or certified program.
The newly updated YFBCA coaches certification now has 10 new questions related to concussion awareness and sport safety. YFBCA has also teamed with Coeus Global to conduct the confidential background checks.

Attended Glazier Clinic Free For Youth Coaches!
This program grants Youth Coaches FREE admission to the Frank Glazier Clinics. To clarify, qualifying Youth Football Coaches do not hold a football coaching position with any type of school or professional sports organization. High school and junior high school coaches are not eligible for this scholarship program.

For the past 18 years, USA TODAY and the Institute for International Sport have co-sponsored an annual essay contest in support of this major sportsmanship initiative. As part of the celebration, students from elementary, middle and high schools, as well as colleges and universities, are invited to write essays of 500 words or less which address a sportsmanship theme of your choosing. Essays may speak to any aspect of ethics and sportsmanship in society, or share a personal reflection of exemplary or poor sportsmanship you have seen or experienced. Submission Deadline: February 24, 2010

CBS 60 Minutes Replay of Football Island Aired 1/17/10
This was aired the Sunday after our January Newsletter was sent out and I wanted to share it as it shows the great reach the game of football can go. I have had the pleasure of working camps with coaches and players of Soman decent. It was always an educational experience for them to share their culture with the players at the camp.
