Future Pro GermanyAmerican Football becoming a national
pass time in Germany?

On the 26th of June Future Pro American Sports kicked off with the first
high school vs. high school football scrimmage ever held in Germany. This
new sports project called ( American Football as a School Sport) was
conducted in Langenseldbold Germany in which the Mustang from Karl-
Rehbein competed against the Kaethe-Kollwitz Panthers, until now American
Football has only been played in locally ran clubs, but thanks to the
organization members of FPAS a change has come. The goal of FPAS is to
install American sports into the Germany School system, mainly for it.s
social benefits, while clearly defining the individual /collective skills and
through professional Coaching developing the athletes to be competitive.
The introduction to American Football in the schools has been met with both
Positive and Negative responses. The fears where mainly injury related and
proper the use of Coaching techniques, upon explaining that injuries occur
and through properly trained Coaches something can be minimized . Our
Coaches must attend a mandatory 88 hrs Coaching clinic and Certify with
organization such as Youth Football Coaches Association (YFBCA) to display
that they have the skills necessary to conduct training said Coach Earnest
Dorsey. We are pleased with the outcome the fans loved it said Mr. Holland
FPAS President, it.s was like being back home in the U.S.A., football has
been in existence for over 25 years in this Country in which they have
played thousands of game, but this was special because it was a School
function with the exception of a few things, but it was really a great day for
the school system and the sport of Football.

YFBCA is proud to be helping grow football every where it can!
YFBCA and CHSCA Hosted a Youth Coaches Clinic

CT Coaches ClinicYFBCA teamed up with top ranked high school coaches to provide a youth football coaches clinic Saturday June 27th. at Recheler Field, home of UCONN Husky Football.

The clinic was the kick start for CT vs RI Governor's Cup All Star Game.

Over 50 coaches had registered and spent the afternoon shuttling from station to station learning about practice organization, common mistake youth coaches make and walking thru various fundamental drills.

"The clinic was well organized and I was able to walk away with a bunch of new drills to teach my players."

It was great working with Coach Bouffard and the YFBCA. The coaches put on a great set of stations and feed back for the clinic was nothing but positive." said Steve Filippone, Chairman of CHSCA Football Committee.

Tryouts Held to Build Youth Football Teams

contributed by Tom Anderson

With football season right around the corner, many issues start to come about for the upcoming season. One thing that is on everyone's minds is tryout week. Today in sports you often see teams that are clearly superior to others at that age group.  Tryout week is very important in determining how the rest of the season will go. It is very important during this week to find a system on rating players, and being able to split players up evenly. With weight and age restrictions, picking even teams can be a difficult and frustrating time for coaches.

One way to conduct tryouts and come out with equally talented teams is to use a player ranking system.  Every player has a core skill set. Judge each player on a 1 to 5 scale on how well they can perform each skill. You want to look at a wide range of skills such as speed, tackling, throwing, and blocking. At the end of tryouts take the average of all of the players skills. In order to spread even out the talent within a certain age level, create a rating scale for the players.

What this means is take the overall 5 skill players and place them evenly throughout the league, then place the 4's evenly and so on till every player is placed. This almost guarantees a league with each team being equal. With equal teams players can only get better and will make for a more competitive fall.
