| New CGP amonst us |
We are very excited to announce that Andy Shakliks has earned his Certified Green Professional™ (CGP) designation through the National Association of Home Builders.
The CGP is an exclusive designation offered by the National Association of Home Builders, designed to teach building industry professionals strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes, using cost effective and affordable options. Requirements for designation include 24 hours of classroom instruction, industry experience and adherence to the CGP Code of Ethics.
Shakliks, who is the Contractor Special Services Manager, has been with Mid-Cape Home Centers since 2000 and has been in the building Industry since 1993. He will be available for green building consultation for builder and architect customers. He holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute and now lives in Eastham with his wife and son.

New Team Members at Mid-Cape Home Centers

We are really excited to announce the addition of 2 new members of the Mid-Cape Home Centers family. Bob Baxter joined us a couple of months ago and is the new Account Manager based in our Middleboro location. Bob is an Attleboro resident, been married to his high school sweetheart, Anne, for 29 years and has more than 30 years in the building materials industry. Bob can be reached at rbaxter@midcape.net or 508-947-2300. Also new to our team is Ken Horne. Ken comes to us with more than 20 years in the sales industry and some of you may recognize Ken from his days in the millwork industry. He lives in Duxbury with his wife and 2 children and is a member of the Harry L. Folsum Club #13. Ken spends most his days on the road, but is based in our Plymouth Design Showroom. A lot of you are still asking about courses for the Lead Certification. NARI and Homebuilders are working on setting up additional courses - so we'll get the info to you as soon as we hear!

| "Food Is Love" Food Drive with the CCYP |
The Cape Cod Young Professionals have organized a Cape-wide "Food Is Love" food drive for the month of February and Mid-Cape Home Centers is participating.
Please drop off canned goods to help at our Welfleet, Orleans, Hyannis or South Dennis locations to help families across the Cape. The food will be distributed through the Harwich Family Pantry and the Falmouth Service Centers. For a full list of drop-off locations - click here.
If you'd prefer to make a monetary donation - "Virtual Shopping Bags" have been set-up for online donation. 100% of the proceeds benefit the pantries.
Please consider dropping off a can or two the next time your in one of our stores. The bins will be there until February 25th. |
| Students in the Biz - New Feature! |
This is a new feature to our newsletter and we're very excited to bring it to you. Mid-Cape Home Centers works closely with the faculty and students at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich.
This next generation of builders, engineers, painters, interior designers, architects, plumbers etc...are in need of cooperative (coop) education programs or internships. Contact Pat Andrulot - their student advisor at Cape Cod Tech for more information.

| Students in the Biz - Aubrey Field |
 An 18 year old senior at Cape Cod Tech, Aubrey Field wants to work in the field of Carpentry when he graduates this year. An Eastham resident, he is currently working on a Community Service Shed - including the siding, roofing and interior trim of the project. He'd love to do a coop or internship program with a builder and in his free time enjoys working on his truck, working out, surfing, fishing and anything else that has to do with the outdoors! He also says he's a hardworker and loves to travel and seeing this picture, he clearly loves his dog!

| Students in the Biz - Collin Fish |
 Collin Fish comes from Hyannis and is a senior at Cape Cod Tech. He's 19 and is pursuing the Carpentry course of study. For his senior projects, he's working on expanding his knowledge in roofing and sidewalling and is busy building wooden toy cars. When not at school, Collin enjoys movies, hiking, soccer, traveling and fishing (hope so with his last name!). After graduation, Collin would like to pursue a career in sidewalling and is looking to do a coop program or internship with a builder or lumber company.
