Greetings!
» Team Ride West Moto-Picture Fun! CONTEST!

We need pictures for varied promotional purposes at Ride West. We can use promo materials from BMW of North America of course, or purchase suitable art, but why not feature our own customers? We've noticed that many of you are very talented with a camera, so let's work together and have some fun.

What we intend is a picture contest - every monthYou may submit one digital picture per contest.  You understand that we may use that picture on our web page, or on a flier, or - who knows where!  We intend to set up a video screen or 2 or 6 in the dealership with a rotating slide show of customer pictures that promote the BMW brand and the varied activities that we're all about.

** The judge will be the talented and fabulous Allison Joy, and each monthly winner will receive a Team Ride West t-shirt in either short or long sleeve design the next time they come by the store.

** Pictures should feature a BMW motorcycle or two (duh!) and show BMW motorcycles at work or play on the street, dirt, track, tour - you name it!

** Entries are now open for the first contest, which will call October, because that is how creative we are!

** Please look through your digital pic files and select one picture you like and send it to team@ridewest.com with an explanation of who, what, and where.

Don't have any great pictures?  Consider this an invitation we'll start a new contest next month!

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

Some of our Team Ride West rides seem to take on a character of their own.   This one was a wonderful day filled with everyone helping everyone else -  several times.

Paul Fison comes on several of the rides and prefers to be the "sweep," or "caboose."  He takes it on himself to solve any problems that arise, and he has done this with enough frequency I was thinking of changing the title for the final rider to the "hero position." I think instead I will refer to it from now on as "the Paul."   On this occasion we had a bike run out of fuel - a pair of folks who had not been on our rides before and had thus not heeded the "arrive at the start with a full tank of fuel" dictate.  Paul stopped to assist, rode ahead to get some gas, report to me on the situation, and return to the starved bike and then escort them to lunch. While he did that I ordered his lunch, which was only fair and besides, Robert Okrie had already insisted on purchasing MY lunch!

Over lunch Paul mentioned that he used to be a police officer in the area and knew a terrific back roads route to Highway 9, so off we went.   I was at the back, and the route was so gorgeous and complex that I have no idea where we were, but it was great!

By the time we reached Highway 9 the group was a bit smaller, and we cruised south to Arlington and then south again. At one point Rebecca and I got separated from the group by a red light. No big deal, but as we were cruising together I spotted a motorcycle up ahead idling along the shoulder. It was Robert, who wanted to make sure we were OK. When we approached Snohomish the traffic came to a halt, and there was the rest of the group. Paul had pulled them to the side to wait for the 3 of us so he could lead us over to I-5.  Once on I-5 I laughed as I watched 10 people trying to help each other stay in a lane and free of the heavy traffic perils.  A wonderful day!  Here's the list of the riders:

» Seminar Season Approacheth!

As the weather begins to crispen (Is that a word? Should be) out attentions turn to motorcycle activities both out and indoor. Ride West BMW puts on a series of slide shows, seminars, and film presentations each year.  The usual drill is that Thursday evening programs are registered for on our web site calendar, and carry with them a $10 charge
that defrays most of the cost of the pizza and pop served.

On Thursday evenings we have the pizza ready at 6:30pm, and the seminars run from 7pm to about 9pm.  Saturday seminars begin at 10am and go as long as needed!

Saturday morning seminars are registered for in the same manner but are FREE.  We are indebted to so many of our suppliers and customers who share their expertise and experience.

To whet your appetite check out this schedule.  For any that you like, go to the www.ridewest.com web site calendar, register for the event, pay the $10 if needed, and print your "ticket."

» Dinner at Cafe Veloce

We enjoy a fine time and great food at Café Veloce for our club monthly dinners. "Our" night is the 3rd Tuesday of each month
Most people arrive between 6:00 and 6:15pm, and by 6:30pm we have looked at each others bikes sufficiently to sit down to order food.  We're in the "club" room in inclement weather and out on the deck when the sun shines.

This month's TEAM RIDE WEST CLUB DINNER will be on Tuesday, October 16th.

» Team Ride West "Concept" Rides

Team Ride West rides are referred to as "concept rides" because route and destination changes evolve during the day depending on the wishes of those on the ride, the weather, and events of interest we find along the way. It is not required that everyone on the ride follow the same route or reach the same destination!

» Here are the [GUIDELINES] that we follow.
