 Who Is a Good Candidate for the PerAspera Prize?
|
We are launching the PerAspera Prize for Innovation In the Use of Personal Technology because we believe in the power of personal technology to improve the lives of individuals
and bring prosperity to businesses of all sizes, and in all industries.
We expect many of you know innovators in the Kansas City area who would be excellent candidates for the PerAspera Prize--innovators highly deserving of recognition.
We want to take this opportunity to describe the ideal candidate for the PerAspera Prize.
In addition to the basic criteria discussed last week, nominees for the prize should be individuals or companies who are highly motivated to develop, implement, and market original solutions that utilize personal technology in unique and effective ways.
Nominees can run the gamut from, for-profit to non-profit, from individuals to large corporations, from retail to wholesale. The intended market for the product can range from a specific niche to the general public.
Judges will be asked to give particular weight to hardware or software
solutions that solve very difficult or long-standing problems for
specific user populations.
The most important element is how well the solution utilizes personal technology to fill a legitimate, and unmet, user need. A product or service that creatively and elegantly solves an obviously vexing problem will cause a candidate to stand out from other nominees.
Please give some thought to potential nominees you may know in the Kansas City area, and tell us about them when nominations open on January 1.
