 Technology Allows for More Gifting Options

Gifts are a way we express our appreciation of having special people in our lives. So what do you do when you feel like your friend has everything? I've came up with a few ways you can get creative and still be the "cool" friend who came up with a tech-savvy gift. Photo books:Having an actual photo album has started becoming a thing of the past with the advent of digital pictures. I personally have to force myself to get them printed and put in a book in order and it only happens about once every two years. A way I've started to become more interested in creating photo albums is by using online photo services to place my pictures into fun and creative albums. The programs are very simple and come with quite a few options to help you make your book exactly what you want it to be. I tend to use Shutterfly to upload my pictures, place photos on pages, create fun captions, and even make a custom cover, back cover and spine. The great thing about these photo books is that you can create one but get numerous prints of it. This option can be especially handy for family gifts. Gifting music, games, movies or TV:Apple has created a great way to show your loved ones you care by allowing you to send them music, games, movies and even TV episodes or series. In iTunes, to the right of the "Buy" button, there is an arrow. When clicked it gives you the option to "gift" the item. You'll be sure to put a smile on their face with this unique, thoughtful new way to receive a gift. Get Organized:Not to be an on Apple kick, but their MobileMe product is perfect for anyone that uses the internet, has a busy schedule, but doesn't necessarily use Outlook. Best of all, it has a free 60 day trial to make sure they like it before you actually spend your money on a year subscription. The account gets them their own "@me.com" e-mail address, a calendar, address book, photo gallery, and file storage space accessible anywhere the internet reaches. You can upload your files and make them available to friends and family, making oversized e-mails a thing of the past. No matter whom you're buying for, remember that it's truly the thought that counts and that they will love anything you put some consideration into. But it is always better to have the most memorable gift! |
