 Ringtones Aren't Just For Kids Anymore

We've all seen the commercials, "We've got an app for that." The iPhone seems to have an application for just about everything. But let's take a step back and look at what we already have. Take out your phone. I'll wait while you get it. I'm serious. Go get your phone. Ask yourself this question, "Do I really know the full functionality of my phone?" For many of you the answer may be no.
A family member of mine has a simple cell phone. It was the least expensive phone offered with no frills. Last week he asked, "Does this thing have speed dial?" Well, yes it has speed dial and it has a calendar and alerts, texting and games and so much more! So we had a lesson on how to use a cell phone.
What if you have a smart phone? Now we're getting into some really powerful stuff. There are calendars, email, Internet access, calculators, address books, ringtones, etc.
Ringtones? Ringtones are for kids, right? Wrong. They can be used to prioritize your calls. Many times people find themselves diving for their phone because it might be an important call. No one wants to miss a call from their top client. You may want to consider setting up a certain set of ringtones to indicate who is calling. One ringtone could be for anyone related to business, the second ringtone for family members, the third for close friends and a forth ringtone for all other calls. You may want to have a special ringtone for your top client. Mentally, this helps prioritize the calls before you reach your phone and may prevent unnecessary diving.
Maximize your productivity with the device you already have. Even the simplest of phones can help you manage your day more effectively.

 Everyone knows that the iPhone is the phone to imitate right now. In 2008, the sales of iPhones grew 245%. Take a look at the seven new and upcoming phones that are predicted to be the closest thing to competition for Apple. Utilizing touchscreen technology, cameras, music players and more, these phones can claim a few extra tricks. The Vu can let you watch mobile TV, The Xperia runs on a Microsoft operating system, and the N2 can be worn around the neck, weighing half that of the iPhone. Time will tell if these phones can make a dent in the market, but it should be interesting to watch the sales competition. | |
