Be Patient

Patience is the key, when it comes to getting your technology to operate correctly.

As we have discussed in earlier columns, computer systems are designed to work. If you take the time to ensure that everything is configured properly, and nothing is defective, you should be able to get your technology to do what you want it to do.

If something breaks, reviewing the configuration step-by-step should uncover the problem.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to take your time when troubleshooting your computer or network. This is because:

a) The system probably went down at "the worst possible time," and

b) You probably have 50 other things that require your attention.
